A look to his daughter , and Jaymes says "We may need to leave Thyle sooner than I hoped"

"Well, we have a good lead."

"Siv'll like it."

"One more place to show you before we go though. YOu need to see where Tove lived"

"Oh, yeah!" Excited.

"Come on" he says grimly

She dims, but follows.

And they make their way from the main Island, and around  something of a pensually, behind raw reefs and shipwreck remnants. Materials from those broken longships have been used to craft crude shacks in nordic squalor.

The mist comes in more openly here, and creates a kind of cold miserable shadow over everything.

Ramshackle huts and cabins, more thrown together than assembled. One smells of cheap perfume and sweat. They walk by.

"Fewer oathbroken now" he nods "Once this place was populated with scavangers and desperate oath broken" He says

Dag frowns, looking around. She pulls on her coat - mortally, it would be her hoodie, her shield against the world.

"It's... I didn't think places like this could be in the dreaming."

"A utopia for some is often a harsh place for others. Some will say the Oathbroken bring it on themselves, and they do, but... they had no way to restore their honor, they were given no quests, offered no second chances under the old rule. Now... now they do. But then? Mmmph." A sigh "And no one came to their rescue or defense when Chimera came out of the waters to feed. After all, there's no honor in defending the honorless"

Jaw-jut.

"But Tove wasn't honorless. And Torvald... I mean, there were reasons..."

"Yes, he saved his own daughter... and for that was damned. And Tove? Tove was not oathbroken , and refused to leave him so she too was trapped here. I want you to understand why she... why she wanted to leave and took your grandfather with her. Even when it goet better. It ... the memories of here for her, she can't be expected to feel comfortable on Thyle"

"How is it honorable to make a place like this?"

"Force people into squalor?"

"They broke their oaths, they made their choices. This? This is what justice looks like when there is no mercy in it"

"Can it be just without mercy, though?"

"Like, is it just punishment then?"

A grunt nod ("Sounds like you get it. Shame they didn't for a long time")

"Pretty sure I've gotten mercy a lot at the Lodge."

"So did I" A nod and they move to one.. "ah, here it is." The idea that two trolls lived here is...well, one of them had to sleep sitting, and the other was probably on the ground... "This is where your mother was."

There's a broken cane.

and a cracked wooden flute.

She crouches, picking up the detritus.

The style on the cane is.. kind of like Tove's but a bit different.

THe flute, that was definmitely her work

"The cane was made by her mother I think"

"For Torrin?"

"mmm hhmm" ("Yes. Notice the loveknot work, like a Welsh love spoon")

"If you want to take them with you you can but... they seem to be junk now"

"Well - maybe Kerri can heatherbalm them?"

"I bet he'd like it back."

A voice calls out "Strangers? If you are Oathbroken and seek honor, look for Fashti the Golden. He's assembling a quest. It is deadly, but might restore your honor"

She pokes her head out. "That's.. a kind offer? Not Oathbroken, but..."

The fellow says "Oh," He nods. "I'm Feydan The Restored... once Oathbroken myself. Then we fought on side of Franklyn the Wise and the Breaker of shackles and... our honor restored. I was.... whole again. But I thought what to do with my returned self? So .. I come here to see if anyone else needs a chance too. Ones who have fallen since, or missed it. It's.. the right thing to do"

She grins. "It is!"

"We're of Rivervale. Frank's my uncle."

A grunt nod from Jaymes ("Good man")

"THen the honor is mine twice over," Feydan smiles

"Feydan, things work well here now, better? It's not.. it's better than it was?" Jaymes seems to need to hear it.

"Yes, much," Feydan says

Dag nods a little, for her dad's sake.

Relief, "Thank you, Feydan. To see this place mostly empty, and then you here, it is a good sign."

He loosk to Dagmar "We shoudl go find siv and Vali"

"Yeah, totally." She keeps the cane and flute.
