CC eats the pie and makes happy noises, "Oh Agnes has really out done herself"

"She has." he agrees, and murmurs "Let's make some time to spend with her, mmm?"

A look at him and she says gently, "I didn't think she was that close to you or I?"

He takes a bite, and a sip.... nothing to see here.... and murmurs again "She may need a friendly ear. Or shoulder."

'Mmm" A look at the pie, "Well, if this doesn't buy a half hour of my time nothing does"

He takes her hand and kisses her knuckles. "How are you doing?" he says quietly, and he's not asking JUST about her physical state.

"oh, the grandkids cheer me" A smile but she also admits "I'm just a touch melancholy. It'll past"

"It will." firmly.

"Sweet man. Here" She ggives a half slice of her pie to him

He has never yet turned down a slice of her pie..... and he does not break with that tradition now.

CC seems perked up, and talks with her son about the Club's booming success

While CC remains his focus, a boggan can't help but get a feel for the whole and how they interact. April has become Caesar's partner in all but official marriage. No doubt he goes out to take other lovers, but April seems to have accepted satyrs will be satyrs

And June?

June has always been stubbornly proud of the farm, and her ways. And yet, she seems a bit less confident in that now. And perhaps , judging by her sly gglances at Caesar, she misses masculine attention

It may Samhain's lingering effect to want to indulge wih passions as much as duty.

Maude, the 'other grandmother' seems clueless to June's inner conflict

He'll look for an opportunity to talk to Caesar, but not in front of April; a kinky Beltaine fling is one thing but after children and all.... well, sisterhood might only stretch so far in the "accepting satyrs will be satyrs" arena.

He gets his chance when CC turns the subject to clothes. While Emerson is actually well versed in fashion (It serves an infiltrator like himself well), Caesar's eyes start to gloss over at mention of 'shoes' and he parts for just a bit. EBG can follow

Caesar jokes "You'd think shoes wouldn't matter to a sayress like mom"

Emerson chuckles. "She's never shied away from a challenge. How are you, Caesar? Career confusion aside."

"Good. I love my kids. I love April. And if my biggest complaint is I have to decide o focucs on doing what I love or helping people, I'm actually doing DAMNED good I think" A grin "you?"

"Oh, I agree." with a hearty laugh.

"You seem to be quite.... settled with April. And the other sisters invite you into the children's lives freely? I know May is not a traditional mother in that sense...."

"May is off being May" He shrugs "She left Faustina and Aquilla with April and I and it's a joy"

"But yes, I get to be with all my kids. June's over here with the kids but the DeBukes let me visit when ever I like, which I do frequetly"

"Mmm.... " absently "Which ... well, I'm sure that suits her. In the majority, at least. And really, what else can we ask from life?"

"True. I don't begrudge. I don't always understand."

"I wonder, though, is she -happy-...." he muses.

"Who, May?" A startled look, "I thougght you set her up to travel yourself? did she seem unhappy oh, or are you talking to be June?"

"I meant June." he confirms "May seems quite content to travel, enjoy herself."

"June loves the farm, and it keeps Maude Senior from getting cranky"

Then he coughs in his hand "Though, this samhain I.. well. "
