And Adam knows there's a DeBuke girl who is into him

Adam keeps an eye out for said DeBuke girl in a casual kind of way as he takes his seat for the afternoon's tortu....teaching.

Then he hears Sally Mae talking "Get taht for me, will you Daisy Nelle?"

He looks over, like he was going to do anyway.

"Someone's awful big for her britches ever since she became a teacher.. why am I helping clean the chalk board between classes" And behold, it came to pass that Adam did gaze upon Sally Mae's little sister, who was it seems, closer to his age, and whose nature and time had bestowed the bounty of bosomhood upon much as they did her elder sister

He grins a little to himself.

Sally Mae turns to see Adam looking in class "Adam? Did you have a question about math?"

"No, ma'am."

"Oh, " she says surprised "Well, what can I do for you?"

Daisy Nelle blushes and says "Erasers done" And she zooms outt

"Nothing. I mean, I'm good. Just coming in for class, right?"

"Bit early, but okay" Sally Mae says "I've noticed you've been trying a bit harder this week. Appreciate it."

"You're welcome." He takes his seat and waits.

And class begins

Adam swallows down some resentment and tries to, as he told the kids, get through it since he can't go around it.

IT IS HORRIBLE because he wills it so!

At least he's trying......

He even answers questions, raising his hand if he thinks he's got it. Not too many, but even 1 is more than 0.

Sally Mae is pleased and gives a warm smile "Nice work, Adam"

He nods politely in acknowledgement.

She might recall his attitude and demeanour from later days at Rivervale.

"oo.. straining yourself" She says "Let's go home" She moves with him as the last class is over

Adam takes a deep breath, and off they go, homeward bound.

Sir Earl awaits them, he's dressing fancier, "Shall we?"

"Yes, Sir."

"Thank you."

"Yes, Sir Earl. thank you" She says

"If I may? " She asks "Why haven't you taken a house?"

Earl smiles "Maybe I'm waiting for one that pays enough" ANd he snaps his fingers and they go
