but she might make room for this. After all, Sylvi IS a deBuke by deed

Sylvi frowns, seeing the crowd. "Chieftain? We need a moment." She works her way forward, pulling Myrttle Anne along in her wake.

"Come on up then, Sylvi"

"But Clem, what about cutting down on Firnost visits.. that place is wall to wall nobles" One other protests

Zara weaves through trunk-like legs.

"I'll get to that after I think about it." Clem says "We make a lot of trade thanks to that place. "

Myrttle Anne isn't as nice as Anne Marie , it starts out 'pardon us' "excuse me" "could you get to the side?" "HEY MOVE IT already some folks live below six feet but we deserve space too"

"Chieftain...." Sylvi takes a breath as they get to the center of the crowd. "I think a lot of people have an idea about what's going on that isn't quite right. I'd like to try to address that."

Crowded, loud...Zara grimaces, not liking this one bit.

The trolls DO part a little for the boggan. And one almost steps oon Zara not seeing her. Good grief. DeBukes are like cattle at times.

Sylvi waits for Clem's permission to continue. Maybe that's something she's picked up from being emissary to so many noble courts.

"Please, go on, Sylvi" Clem says "And folks, make some more space please." A look at Myrttle Anne "Myrtle Anne. I see you're back."

Myrttle Anne nods "Yes. I hope..well, I'll just let Sylvi explain"

Sylvi takes a deep breath. "Chieftain, everybody, Myrttle Anne is tearing herself up for upsetting Hearth Agnes, which totally is not what she meant to have happen. But I think you all are assuming something. Chieftain, why do you think folks are so upset at the idea of SallyMae dating Carowyn?"

"Because he's a sidhe" Someone else snaps up

"Okay, pretend I'm not an honorary DeBuke. Explain why that matters. Why shouldn't she date a sidhe?"

"Well, for her own good" another lady says "They'd just use her and throw her away."

'Maybe for the farm's secrets" another says

"So, you think she's too stupid to know better? That she's just being taken advantage of?"

"Not stupid, but a bit of chichanry or sovereign and ANYONE could be a puppet" Someone says

Zara looks for any of the four in THIS crowd.

Clem speaks up "Now , Mountain Emmit would know if that had been done to her"

"Okay, okay...so, yeah, that's true. Now, Myrttle Anne has seen Sally Mae and Carowyn together. And what's one thing you're pretty sure you know about boggans?"

It looks like Earl's father is definitely listening in

The Kinain looks on stoicly during this

"They gossip" Someone answers

"Well, obviously" Myrtle Anne says

"They're hard fast workers" Someone else says

"They gossip because they know what's going on," Sylvi clarifies.

Some mutters then "What's your point?"

Sylvi steps aside. "Myrttle Anne, tell them what you've noticed when you've seen Sally Mae and Carowyn together."

Myrtle Anne straightens up "Carowyn adores her, deeply, he worries for her more than she wworries for herself...and if anyone's got the other under their thumb, it's Sally Mae having him ... not that she's cruel with it, but she knows how to get him going whatever direction she wants. But she doesn't abuse that, because she cares for him too... and not just for his looks. He listens. He makes her happy and feel good about herself. Lord, when I think about how hard she works to prove herself to folks, no wonder she's just delighted to find a fellow she doesn't have to impress constantly except by just being herself." Myrtle Anne declares "Why she's not brought one whit of shame to your clan in this. And he's been quite the gent. Now I'm sorry I startled you all with this news, but it seems you are all expected some monster to be taking advantage of your kinswoman... and you are severely underestimating her, and flat out maligning him"

Zara hears another of the 'four' mutter to another person "Now we're letting boggans tell us what to do? and think? YOu know their kith can be awful cozy with the sidhe"

"That's what I needed you to hear," Sylvi says, unable to hear the mutters. "Carowyn isn't trying to get at the Farm. He just really likes SallyMae, and she really likes him right back. That's all this is."

Zara twists her hands in a gesture, and the "whisper" is suddenly MUCH louder.

CLem turns and looks at the woman who said that "Point of fact, I think we all know rumor of a boggan or two that don't much care for Sidhe. Care to repeat that bit of slander on our guest ?"

Sylvi turns to look at the loudmouth, frowning.

Others, are still listening to Sylvi's words.
