"Perhaps that is well earned..."

"I was thinking just that" he nods. True to his word, it IS only a little. And he listens to her story

There is a touch of editing - carefully dancing around the more embarrassing exploits - but Emmit gets close to a straightforward telling of the tale.

It is to his credit that he hides many smiles behind a cup and does not laugh loudly at the funnier bits, and yes, he is sympathetic but adds "Some might say it's karma for you wearing my glasses so smugly"

"Feh!"

Now he allows a chuckle again "just saying" A nod though "That does explain some things"

Eyebrow.

"When the memories returned of what the shadow had done, did you remember her red marking a thesis of mine for 'inexactitudes'?"

She squints, tracking....

"...oh..."

"Oh dear..."

"You didn't mention the grammar errors in my lesson plans bothered you before" He says with amusement

"She was a most busy manifestation." Sigh.

"If she had have your energy, I am not surprised. Reminds me of an encounter with a magic mirror when Iwas traveling... " And, if she shows interest, he will share a story of his own embarrassing chase of a reflection

Zara is out, Emmit dealing with less interesting things. And she overhears two voices.

"Boggans" Kourtney says "Boggans can bear witness that that Sally Mae and Carowyn have a healthy relations ship, one where he's not taken advantage or the like.."

"They could, but would your family even listen? And...and would it matter? Carowyn's still sidhe, even if he's sincere."

Zara listens, out of sight.

"I don't know.. if only there were some way for them to stop being so... trolly"

Kourtney sighs "But they trust boggans more than sidhe that's for sure"

"Troll-y isn't wrong. But it's not troll-y to be bigoted. Stubborn, yes...but not bigoted."

"True, but maybe they'd be less stubborn ABOUT the.." A wince "God. We really are bigots aren't we?"

A pained look. "Kinda? Sometimes?"

"So we need to get them to listen to a boggan. Do you think they'll listen to MyrtleAnn?"

"Myrttle Anne gave the 'bad news' but that does mean she's there in the middle of it and they believed the news.. so they should believe her take on it right?"

"That makes sense. Which means it's probably not going to work in practice, unfortunately, but let's try."

"Well, she's currently at Rivervale . I think. "A sigh

Zara can see Kourtney clearly, and she recognizes Sylvi mostly from her times of visiting the RV area to see Gerd or Siv

"Yeah, want to come, or should I just get her and bring her back here?"

"I guess I should go with you" A sigh

Zara knows Kourtney, about Gerd's age. The girl has been learning healing

"Okay, c'mon."

She heads for the bridge.

And to the bridge they both walk. Security is tight.

"Wow..." Sylvi breathes. "They're guarding the bridge that heavily?"

How many guards?

Two actually at the foot bridge, two more on a pattern patrol that joins them every ten minutes. For the DeBukes, this is pretty heavy, particularly when you count their own guard dogs along with the moving ones

And that's just the footbridge spot

"Yeah, Agnes is down, Storm Murray is taking no chances in case someone tries to take advantage of it. Word gets out we're down a leader, and .. it could get ugly"

One of the DeBukes near the bridge looks over and nods "Kourtney, Sylvi."

"Still..." Sylvi says quietly, then to the guard DeBuke she says, "Hey." She almost stops, but then just continues to the bridge.

"Tell your lodge we're grateful for the help in these times " One says

"I will, thank you. And, um, we'll be right back." She seems tense.

"Thanks, Burt" Kourtney says and moves on
