Murray waves them through "Same Cabin, Different mom"

"Thank you, Friend Murray!" He waves back.

The Storm grunts. Who knows what THAT means in Trollish? And they go

"If you wish to race ahead, feel free, Dearest."

"Love you" She says and races ahead

He toddles after her.

When he gets there, he finds things are.. not going well...

Caesar looks worried. And April looks scared.

"May I come in?" He asks carefully.

Clem's face is a knot of concentration "It's okay, it's okay... yes, Emerson. Just don't get in my way"

He enters and approaches April. "May I offer you a greeting, my dear?"

"Yes.." She says in pain

He approaches and kisses her cheek, as he did for May. "Chief, do you need or want assistance?"

"You can use chicanerhy to dim her pain...but don;t' erase it entirely, I need it as a guide" Clem says

Caesar says "Wait, yo uWANT her in pain? What kind of bullshit..."

Clem says "Caesar, I need every clue to keep your babies alive. If you need to leave, go, but do not hinder."

"Caesar, she is right. April, you agree to this?"

"I'll take as much pain as my babies need me to take" She says

"Just a little," Clem answers "just enough to guide, to tell me what hurts while I'm working"

Caesar would tear away in frustration, but he's too busy holding April's hand, and she has a white knuckled grip on it

"Shhh, then.... shhhh.... hush little baby, don't say a word......." he -sings- to her, a lullaby!

And the pain dims, as Ebg uses a master ful touch of glamour. indeed, controlled pain is something he understands very well, and it might make many a DeBuke quake to learn HOW he gained expertise in such applications in dimming or raising pain just where he wanted to.

(And some DeBukes might applaud in appreciation.......)

And Clem works, with the ruthless tyranny that falls onto Healers of all stripes. She must be obeyed or lives will be lost. She asks blunt questions of the mothers to be.

Emerson backs away once his work is done. "I'll be at the cabin, as before." He murmurs to Callidora.

CC almost doesn't hear him, then turns and nods

And Emerson slips out... April gives directions about what part of her body is doing what... hurting how. And Caesar, a man who has faced monsters , and made a living of getting chokeholds on him for others amusement, looks terrified but only when April isn't looking at him. It might be the best performance of the actor wrestler's life.

And off he goes, like a good surplus male.

Yup. the men are talking.. and Emerson notices that bets are being made.

"Emerson, want a drink or a smoke?" April's father says "The boys here are placing bets on how long, and the sex of the kids"

Where as Maude is not crazy about EBG and CC, Theodore seems to have embraced Emerson as a friend.

"Some of that beer you make would be delightful, thank you. I'll consider the wager. How are you?"

"Worried," Theodore admits, "April's always been the softest one, the sweet one. Not that she's not strong but... well, compared to her sister she always seemed so gentle and I don't know how much fight she'll muster for this. "

A beer is handed over. Marvelous stuff happens when folks can make their own and have lots of grains to work with

Emerson takes a drink and hums with pleasure. "She has DeBuke steel in her."

Nods and grunts of agreement with the others.

Agnes goes into the cabin ..perhaps to help. The men watch

"Not a good sign" Emmit mutters

"No, it's not" Theodore says

Emerson frowns, looking in the direction of the cabin.

A burst of glamour from the Cabin.

"Healing magics..." Emmit observes, "Clem's fighting for her hard. And no doubt , she's fighting too"

"Oh dear......" he murmurs.

Theodore says "If this were a nightmare we could fight it"

tHe frustration of the men here is palpable. Trolls do not take to helplessness well

He sips, preferring to say nothing for the moment. It would be only platitudes, anyway.

And then...CC comes out, and it seems to have fallen to her to yell out "Three Girls! They're all alive! They're going to be okay!"

And they realize they could have been staring for ten minutes, or over an hour. Time.. time was lost

but cheers break out
