"Really, I'm healed up," April says "More so than I would be in a mortal hospital..magic's a wonderful cheat, you know?" She assures Caesar from the bed she's got "I mean, yes, I don't want to dance a jig or anything, but recovery is going fine."

Emmerson finds he's got one of the girls in his hands, the infant stares up at him, and he could swear one of her eyes was winking as if trying to imitate his own missing one

He watches the bundle askance, and tries to find a polite way to divest himself of the burden.

Nope. One in Cc's arms, one in Caesars, and April getting a break. He's stuck.

The little girl, adorable, still gives him a look like 'you're no prize either, bucko' .. or maybe it's gas?

It's not that he doesn't know -how-...... so he stands and suffers.

"Awww, I think Winter likes her pop pop" April beams

Caesar grins "Looks like."

He gives them a -look-.

Winter gives a sniff as if to agree with Pop Pop.

CC gives a low chuckle, and waggles fingers for Autumn in her own arms.

when there's a banging on the door "Mister Caesar, sir!" A childling's voice "They tole me to tell you June's taking her turn!"

CC looks up at this "Oh my. Poor Clem is probably missing the peace of Wyvern attacks"

"Mmph." Emerson seems to have his hands full. "Miss April, do you feel up to taking Summer?"

"I'll take them all, bed should be plenty big. You folks go"

Emerson frowns. "Are you certain?"

"Troll sized bed, but if you folks are worried, just tell any relation out there that's not helping June that i could use some assistance, they'll rush in" April assures. Caesar too was looking doubtful about this but relaxes

"Hmph." He hands Winter over then fusses around making sure there are bumpers or rails in place.

There are... and CC is already peeking out "Hello? April needs some help here, please!" Such a normally subtle woman. Quicker than you can say 'you don't look too busy' , a younger WIlder girl and her mother come up to assist. That's just how things work here on the farm.

Emerson heads out, waving the satyrs ahead again; although, it isn't far as they are already on the farm.

CC actually does slow down enough to whisper into Emerson's ear "Winter and you are peas in a pod, I can tell" And then , to get the last word in, THEN she races after her son.

.... thus it is she cannot see her William's eye roll so hard it almost fall out.

June seems to be having a smoother birth than April, and thank goodness... because Clem looks tired, and might be a little less patient

Emerson taps at the door. "May I come in?"

"YESS..." June says with a hiss

He does, using his native abilities to judge the situation.

June is traditional, she wants things done in the old way like her family is known too, but now, she's regretting those demands but too proud to back out. This makes her snappy with folks as the redhead's temper is in full flare, but Clem is not in the mood to deal with such and about ready to inform the mother she quite litterally asked for this. Caesar, realizing Clem saved April AND the kids the other say, and not as close to June, tries to help only to get glared at by June. CC actually seems pretty poised about this.

"Miss June, may I give you a greeting?"

"Are you kidding?" She says "HIiiiiiii" Oh my, yep, touch of temper.

"June Maude, you be mannerly" Maude the mother says, having just entered.

It says something that DeBuke is supposed to be mannerly even in child birth. Troll culture.

He approaches the bed cautiously.

"Sorry mom, I'm only pushing somoene the size of a watermelon out of a..." But June bites down and says "Sorry, Mister Stodgepole, sure, say hello"

He puts a -quick- kiss on her cheek. "Hello, my dear Miss June." He addresses both Clem and June next "Is there anything I can do to help?"

"She doesn't want a fuddle or the like it seems" Clem says "Wants it all natural"

June's wince indicates she's regretting that choice

Emerson leans in to murmur. "I would be honored to oblige, with cantrip or other options....."

June doens't VERBALLY say yes, but her lips form a grimmace of 'please'

He nods and gives her a kiss on the other cheek, casting the fuddle as subtlely as he can.

And the pain lessens... and ..to June's credit, she's done her homework. She becomes the perfect patient, knowing when to push, and giving Clem the info she wants.

Emerson backs quietly away, taking CC's hand to squeeze as he goes.

Yep. Back to the Mountain's cabin....

CC gives a kiss on his passing cheek as well

and he's gone to the refuge of men folk

Complimentary beer handed over right away "You all right, Emerson?" Theodore asks.

"Oh, dandy! And you? You are holding up well, I hope?"

"I got to admit to you, Emerson, this just damned surreal. Even here on the farm a man doesn't go from father hoping to get grand kids to GRAND Father with 5 grand daughters with more grandkids on the way in just 74 hours. I'd take up drinking in earnest except Maude isn't a fan of beer breath"

He chuckles. "Well, you have plenty of help."

"Oh, we DeBukes stick together mostly, though May Maude always did go her own way" A sigh "I hope she's happier with her world traveling but i worry she's going to regret some lost chances later. June's tough though. He'll, it'll be up to me and Maude to spoil her kids. She's gonna be fiiirm mark me."

Emerson lifts his bottle in salute. "You have done all you can, and more than most. They must make, and live with, their own choices from here, my friend."
