"Whom do you live with, boy?"

"My mother...." And his face screws up with discomfort "And I live in a huge castle we raided down the street. The old King was a dingus so we ate him" there, he feels better adding that, and grins

"Mm. For now, eat your breakfast." the boggan says dryly.

"Thanks, probably better than King anyway" He eats with gusto

"Yes. King is very dry, I have found." he says with a sardonic look at Callidora.

CC eyes are dancing with amusement, then she sees what she just did "Sec, Emerson , honey and I'll get your plate ready too"

"Thank you."

He turns back to the boy, observing him.

The boy seems to dabbling in creative efforts such as sculpting his breakfast food. Now and then he gawks about with wonder and... more. He's considering a prank. HOW does Emerson know this? Well, it's a little boy, and a pooka new to his self.

"Yes.... it might be funny." says the fat old man "Clever, it might even been seen a cute.... but are you absolutely certain of how it will come across? Is it worth it?"

The boy goes back to his eggs and bacon.

Speaking of which, CC gets Emerson some food as well

"Thank you." quietly as he is served.

"You have always had such urges, hm? You will find them more common now."

"You're welcome," CC smiles "Now, young man, I know it's hard, but can you tell us your name?"

"Sure could. I could go on about my name all day and half of tomorrow!" He beams

"Could you approximate things in about five minutes?" dryly.

"Sure..." beat "What's approximate mean?"

CC sighs then tries something "What would your mother never call you?"

"Attentive" the boy nods somberly, then grins "She'd never call me Dawson"

"Then we will. Unless.... is there a name so obvious, so well-known, that you feel it was always a part of you but now you have the language to pronounce it?"

His face scrunches "Slyfoot?"

"Does it feel wrong to call yourself that?"

THen he ponders that name "It actually feels like a pair of old sneakers I thought i lost, I don't know if they fit anymore but I missed them?"

"It might be worth trying them on. Even with holes in the soles.... there might be life in them yet."

The boy is now blowing bubbles in his drink with his straw

The boggan clears his throat. "What do you think of that? How does Slyfoot sound to you?"

"Like this..." He takes a breath and says " SLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYYYIIIIIIIEEEEE FFFFF FFFFF OOOOOOO OOOOO ETTT TTT TTT ah!"

A long-suffering sigh.

CC looks amused but covers her expression so the boy can't see it

"You will need to meet others of your kith, learn to navigate the world as you live in it now, and something of our society. There are guidelines that make things easier to get along."

"Yes, Fairy Godfather" He nods "You're the offer I can't refuse"

CC breaks out in a laugh

Another sigh.

"Eat your breakfast." He looks at Miss CC "I could drop him off at the.... bed and breakfast."

"With what mentor to guide him?" She arches a brow

"I'm sure one will wander though eventually......"

The pooka's ears go down just a bit "It's the ears, isn't it?"

"No, no..." a third sigh "We will not leave you to your own devices."

CC looks pleased at that, then says to the boy "Dawson, you've done nothing wrong. You're new to our world and like the man said, we will make sure you're not just deserted. "

Emerson then takes one of the shakers to touch up his own eggs, only to find the top was unscrewed

He gives Callidora a slow stare over the pile of salt on his plate, shaker suspended upside down over the eggs.

Slyfoot grins "We made it snow, sir"

CC gives Emerson a pleading look that seems to speak of not folding, spindling, or chucking the pooka out the window

"LEt me get you another" she tells him

"That would be very kind of you, Miss CC." He says calmly as he sets the shaker down quietly.

"I -did- mention that the urge to play little tricks on others might feel overwhelming, Slyfoot, didn't I?"

"You're super smart, Fairy God father" he nods "You called it. Are you a wizard?"

"I can do magic, yes. So can you. Or, you can learn to." matter of factly.

His eyes grow large, "I can do MAGIC???? " A bit too loud "Like Hopwarts school of wizcraft? Like Loki? "
