And in he comes, storming in, stinking and furious "Boss? I ... " he sees CC "Good." He still looks furious, "I got suckered, boss. I'll find who did this. I'll have their livers"

Stodgepole gives him a rough address. "You'll find two of them there. If you can hunt down the third..... enjoy yourself." his tone is very dark.

He nods "I'll make it hurt" And goes

apparently not stopping to shower

"Good." he whispers when Rocco is gone.

In some ways that's a clue that CC is going to wkae up soon, she too was darted.

And she shuffles, "Oh my freaking head"

"Dearest....." he breathes, coming to her. "A headache? What else? I'll get you something to ease it all."

"Just a headache... are you okay?" SHe looks him over "You're hurt" she looks at the graze he got as a wound

"Mmph." a small grunt "A scratch, I'm fine."

"Let me get medicine, and a first aid kit. We can tend each other."

"Damn straight, i was trying to lead them from you so you wouldn't get shot"

"Yes, well... we'll talk about that when your headache is gone. I have language to use." He limps away to get supplies.

"You're mad at me?? that's so backwardss I.." She rubs at her head

And he limps away before SHE can say some words

He's back as soon as he can be, with the med kit. He gives her the bandages, and then hands her a highball glass with a fizzing purple liquid in it. "Drink."

She takes it "Can't believe you didn't have the sense to get back into the club first..." Mutter grouse but..she drinks

"Excuse me, I -did- come back to the Club before tracking you down." firmly.

"To get your gun I imagine?"

"... and knives, and a few specially treated items, YES."

"You were supposed to get to safety and STAY in safety, you chowderhead. You could have been hurt"

"Mmph." he takes the glass from her and sets it aside, turning so she can tend his wound; he was, in fact, hurt.

"Dammit, that's what i mean" She looks over it

"A scratch." he reiterates.

"Gods only know what they shot you up with....."

"I've taken worse .. but I was younger then. They were kidnapping me, weren't they? or trying to"

"Yes." Grimly "They won't do it again."

"There was a rooftop sniper, and three on the ground. The sniper got away."

"is Rocco okay?"

"He is now; he's hunting."

"Alone? Oh redcap pride" She huffs "Maybe text him to get help?"

"He's fine; he has a personal investment in the hunt; they took him out, then took you out."

"He's a bit... peeved about it."

"You don't blame him for this do you? they had a sniper"

"I do not. No more than I would blame myself for letting you come into harm's way." dryly.

"YOU are not to blame either . I am going to go outside now and then"

then she adds "Still less scary than cancer" And that's true

"True." he admits.

"You should get a bath" She observes, "And after being on the ground a shower wouldn't kill me either. " She hugs him gently "you great goob. '

"Thank you for that." he indicates her care of his wound "I will admit... it did sting. Adrenaline is a cruel mistress; I might take some time tomorrow."

"A shower sounds good." he returns the hug, with interest.

"Callidora, what on -earth- did they want?!?!"

"I honestly have no idea"

"-Dearest.....-" with emphisis.

"I don't. Those were all mortals, the court would send at least one kithain or thallian"

"And you have no -mortals- that you might have... entanglements with?"
