Caesar hears their plea for the poor guy, "Well, yeah I could always use an extra accountant, if he's honest?"

"I know next to nothing about him, but haven't had much opportunity to investigate."

"Well, hope you aren't offended if I do a background check on this guy?" he asks

"I would encourage it! I'm sure your people will gather valuable information and I will, in my own little way, endeavor to do the same."

"Sounds good." he says then lowers his voice "how's mom doing? I mean wasn't that long ago she was a naked mole rat with cancer"

"She is a gorgeous and voluptuous saytress without cancer or, indeed, a thing wrong with her."

"Long as she's healthy and happy" he looks relieved "Thanks for the reassurance. I gotta get her something for MOther's Day."

"I'm sure she'll be delighted. You are, of course, presenting the monthly Maude with a token or two as well?"

"Oh yes, high tribute to the matrons" He grins

"Do see to it, dear boy." wryly.

"I have plans to spoil April. Babysitter already pre hired, fancy dinner out where she doesn't have to do a thing, the whole works"

"And the others?" an eyebrow.

A blush at something "Still still trying to find soemthing for June. May seemed happy with Airline gift certificates last year so was going to a repeat"

He frowns "not that May Maude really is muc hof a mom"

"Ah-ah-ah...." a warning tut "She did carry and have the children, an arduous task neither of us could have done. She has done all we asked of her."

"I guess you're right. She's been wanting to fly over to Greece"

"We will make that happen for her."

"I've got it covered" he assures

"Are you certain? She and I -did- reach an agreement....."

"It's just a gift certificate for flight, a few hundred won't kill me. Doing pretty well" he assures

"As you like, then, my boy."

"Now Maude SENIOR is a hard one to decide for. She's basically my mother in law at this point" Dryly

"May I suggest jewelry? And scotch."

"She'll probably act like she's not the type for jewelry, and she's a practical sensible woman... then, in typical troll fashion, enjoy it secretly." he saays "Don't tell my Troll blooded lady this, but they can be a silly kith"

"I wouldn't dream of it." he murmurs.

"Nothing too-much, but something beautiful, with substance. You can liken it to herself."

"Suck up hard huh?" A smile "Sure. I think I can find out from April what her mom likes."

"Any suggestions for MY mom?" he says

"Oh dear. You appreciate that we approach this from different viewpoints?"

"Oh right. YOu would be romantic, and for a son that doesn't work"

"Awkward, at least, yes."

"Although, again, while I cherish our relationship Caesar I'm very glad your mother is not a mother at the moment. Grandmother suits me well."

"Ha. I hear you. And I'm not offended at your relief. I would be a bit weirded out to have a siblilng at this stage"

"Agreed." firmly.

"Besides, mom gets the best gig this way... she's gonna be the spoiler, I have to deal with the fall out"

"And again, agreed." he nods and toasts with his coffee.

The two sip "Okay. How about for mom I get her ..hey, they make quilts out of photos now right?"

"Not out of photos, but photographs printed on fabric, I believe, yes."

"Yeah, that. How about printed photopgraphs of all the kids on a quilt?"

"An excellent idea. You get her a quilt to tuck around her and keep her warm. I'll get her lingerie to wear beneath it." with a twinkle.

"Ack" he exagerates "overshare, my friend." Then a smile "But sounds like a plan" he offers his hand

He shakes

And they smile

The door opens, and CC is carrying groceries

William pops up and hustles over to take the bags. "Welcome back, Dearest...."

Caesar also rises to help with the other bag

"Well goodness" She smiles "I can tote my own grorceries, you both know that right?" But she doesn't seem upset

"We know, and you have! Now it's our turn."

"Don't be stingy, mom" Caesar adds
