Later at home "His wife has cancer and wants to divorce him to SAVE him?"

"In so many words... yes."

"Intestinal cancer." he adds.

"good lord" She says

"Something like that." he pours her a martini, dirty "I had him taken home but we have his car, his keys, and his information."

"You're ...going to help him, aren't you?" not a critique so much as observation

"I have to admit, the situation -did- strike a nerve." he serves the drinks, taking her hand for a moment as he does.

"Does for me too" She admits

(PRESSES SEND)

"What do you think, then?" he takes a seat next to her and sips his drink.

"Not sure how much financial aid we can give" She ponders "As for cure, i don't think a mortal would stay a naked mole rat as long"

"They would not." he agrees.

"I hate being helpless. Not that i want to be putting on a cape, but powerlessnes...sucks'

"It does, and we have more options than many." he points out "I admit, I see an echo of our struggles in Richard's. Leaders who do not take care of their people, but leave them to fend for themselves."

"Mmm we COULD likely change the mind of his insurance company or the hospital. Bit of chicanery here and there... get them to foot the bill like they should?"

"Forgeries would also do it"

"I didn't go in-depth with him as to what efforts against the insurance company he's made. My sources tell me, though, that there are some tricks you can use, elements of their own system, to receive just treatment."

"Sounds like the angle to work, though w emust beware of Banality" A frown "Unfortunatel she is still likely to die"

"As will we all, one day."

"A truth" She says, meloncholy

"Oh, now, Dearest.... I didn't mean to bring sadness to our evening."

"Tis the nature of the she beast" she rallies a smile "We satyrs have terrible poker faces at times. At least when it comes to how we feel. But I did want to know. Mm.. i wonder if it would be wrng to send her off early? Happily?"

"Mmm. 'Wrong' is subjective.... if I had to guess I would say Richard would prefer to keep her as long as he can, for a natural lifespan if possible. Perhaps I can offer him some tips against the insurance company first?"

"And... if he needs work...." an eyebrow "The case could be made for needed an accountant for the Club, I suppose."

"You softie..." She ponders "It would allow you to pass on some day to day for more free time"

"Mm. However will I spend it?"

'Well, my vote is always spoiling me" A smirk "But you could go fishing with Caesar"

He wrinkles his nose. "I could; I think I prefer the former."

"Now, a single club would not make a full plate for an accountant but we might help him along on his own career? Or would that effect his insurance situation?" a sigh "I suppose I'll have to talk to him again."

"Well, we do have that business you invested in, the liquors? Aren't you a partner in that?"

"Two businesses then, yes. We offer better health options than most, Dearest, but he needs -comprehensive- care."

"Yes he..." her eyes light up "What about Caesar's real estate business? Mind you, Sally Mae DeBuke aids him but she has her own cab company but Caesar could always use someone in THIS region"

An eyebrow "An excellent possibility."

"I'll have to talk to him about the health insurance, but I think it would be step up"

"Well." he offers a toast "I think we're on the road to sorting this out. I'll take his car by in the morning, see if we can chat."

'I think we are " she toasts back "And I'm glad you told me. It does strike close to home"

"Mm." he touches her cheek after he takes a sip "You are feeling well?" checking in with her.

"Still cancer free, and eager to get back to what I do. Song, dance, a wicked romance. I can't tell you how nice it is to pull you towards me and not feel tired out after it"

"I never intended for my attentions to be a burden Dearest." seriously "I shall be more thoughtful, considerate, in the future."

"THat is NOT what i meant" She huffs!

"I know your stamina is stronger than mine, by a great deal." he explains in the face of her huff "I would never wish to disappoint you, and at the same time I wanted to be sensitive to your situation without drawing attention to it...."

"My situation is fully recovered" She reminds

"True. And shan't happen again." firmly; indeed, his dietary efforts have become standard and he's EVEN gone walking with her on a regular basis.

"Mmm makes me want to eat a red meat Pizza with extra bread and cheese when you say that"

That said, she has let him dictate her diet a bit more. Besides, the man could make cardboard taste good

He chuckles. "Can I make you a crudite board? I'll add some bleu cheese......" tempting.

"Mmm I'll humor you" She smiles

He chuckles and bustles to the kitchen, pleased to have some way to pamper her, even if it IS with raw vegatables.

She does call out while he works "Don't forget salt payback"

"Oh Yes!" He bustles back out with a small platter "Here we are. Salt. Yes. I'll call the vendor Monday."
