"You know, that baron doesn't KNOW what we have.. we could sell either item for a small fortune o trade if need be. This is a win"

"Yes, yes. It's a win. I'm just .... rankled. Still. Any landing you can walk away from, yes?"

"So! What is our next target? I promise you, the Count's people are not resting and they are more numberous than we are."

"Well our next target isn't in Bergen. "

"No? Where?"

"You're not just removing me from temptation, are you?" good-natured suspicion.

"not JUST" A wink

"Hmmph! Very well. Where are we going?"

"As always, to Idaho"

"Desolate place. Once upon a time I.... well, no matter. We'll need a moment, I think, to secure these items? Pack?"

"Yes, I suppose we should"

He nods and looks around the motel with distaste. "I would just as soon not stay here longer than needed but....."

"It's okay to be a snob when you have money, honey" A wink "We can go now if you want?"

"We're still in Bergen; do you think they're looking for us?"

"Mmm likely, but I can change our shapes againn if I have to"

He sighs, and packs up. "Yes, let's do that. And veil as we depart, leave the TV and lights on to appear occupied."

She turns the TV on and the volume just a bit above average

He nods and very shortly they are ready to leave (the only luggage is bags, after all). The gorgon is treated most carefully.

Spells cast, and they are on their way

William's first stop will be the hotel.

MEANWHILE... at the hotel

"The usual room, sir?"

"Yes, thank you." a genial smile and the subtle passing of a generous gratuity.

And up they go, CC smiles "You've donne a lot of bad things here"

"Yes. Wonderful memories." he chuckles.

"I helped with a few"

"You did." he confirms "I've never loved a partner in crime before, Callidora. Not until you."

She almost shines at that , "I like that, I like that line a lot." A kiss, "Please remember that one. Might get you in my very good graces when I'm feeling sussed"

He chuckles as he returns her kiss.

And ding! they arrive, exit the elevator, and down the hall to his usual spot. Some careful work means housekeeping ignores this room, and it doesn't get offered to other guests.

and in they go, CC helps clean up, but with back to Emerson so his bogggan talent can go full tilt

Oh, he keeps it neat; to look at it, one wouldn't think it was a back-up bolthole of his own.

Not a single item worthy of remark.

She looks over his work. "Oh not a thinng out of place"

If anyone ever measured the walls and took a microscope to the place....

"Thank you." he casually goes to an standard wall and presses a crack, invisible to most.

It opens a panel, and he stores the prizes there. She knows there are others like it around the room, but perhaps not where all of them are.

"I have such an urge to search the walls with a metal detector"

He chuffs, a chuckle, and locks it up again.

"You might be surprised. And, this is not my only location."

"I suppose every man needs a FEW Secrets" Amused "Pretty sure there's a bolt hole of yours near Janet's workshop. "

(Pause)

"I will not say you are wrong...."

Truth to tell, though, she can't help but have noticed he does not spend as much time with Janet as he once did. His visits now are more "friends" vs. "friends with benefits."

She kisses him lilghtly for.. no reason.. then says "Now where else? Knowing you, there's probably one in the catskills, just to thumb your nose at royalty in the shadow of the High King"

A smirk. "Once upon a time, yes. It's abandoned and empty now. Several around this city, of course, and at least one in each so-called Kingdom."

"of course" She smiles "You needn't tell me just where, but I bet if I were to search, something like 'a house near John Brown's birthplace' would not be amiss. You are terribly romantic.. in your way"
