"I know, I know..." CC says "I'm not telling you that to tortue you, honest"

"Are you quite certain?" He grouches and turns to snap his light off.

She puts a hand on his shoulder "I am quite certain... that said, there's about to be a world of potential talent at the farmhold..and not ALL from either the farm or Rivervale"

"Hmmph. Perhaps. Potential talent is always 'perhaps'.... and, it makes no difference. I have no use for it, hm?"

She frowns in the dimmer illumnation "Are you bitter at me about this?"

"No." He snaps the light off but turns back to her. "No." More gently.

"Well, sometimes I worry I'm your quarentine" She admits and strokes his face, "I know it's hard. I know you have so much to teach, and you may have passed the torch but you would love ot pass on more torches yet."

A smirk. "Set the world on fire, yes."

"I know... but sometimes you do a good job of closing off avenues to making a difference. We've had fosters we could have taken in and let you shape. You sneer at them like an old cat finding a kitten. I have grand kids who will see you as their pop pop... but you don't really want to bond. Either could learn a lot from you, even if not full crownbreaker tactics, you could guide them away from the 'thees and thous let me kiss thy ass oh liege lord' lifestyle. But beyond musing mortal dreamers, which IS wonderful, what do you do?"

"And I'm not talking about the club and such, you work your ass off here. I'm just saying you could light a few torches and hand them out but you turn down opportunities to because.. they're not specatular enough I guess? " A sigh

"No, Dearest." Concerned. "That isn't it. I know you are.... that you care about childlings. I'm not good for them. That's all."

"You worry you'll use them as weapons" She nods "That you'll sacfiice them for the cause?"

"I have before." quietly but without shame.

"mm I guess I worry about it to" She says "But maybe you should make them not int oweapons, but to folks who when they take on weapons, they'll know who the enemy is?"

"Old dogs and new tricks, Dearest."

"Mmmph" She says "I've gotten you to fetch before" A sly smile "Or maybe I just have more faith in you than you do yourself"

"You have not known me as long as I have." he smirks.

"Ha" She smiles "If I were you I don't know if I'd trust you for fair evaluation" a wink "Kind of shifty, you and way too hard on you"

"Mm." He draws her close for a kiss. "I am content with who I am, finally. Is that not something?"

"I was hoping to give you happiness" She admits

"When did you hope that?"

"Since I fell in love with you" She smiles

"And when was that?" he snuggles close.

"Oh that would be telling" She grins

He regards her a moment, and murmurs. "I think I started loving you the moment I saw you."

"Oh, I think I started to fall for you when I realized you were playing half of Firnost for fools and the other half was beneath your worry"

A pause "That and the fact you actually understand how important a good meatloaf is." a blush

"It was the meatloaf?" eyebrow.

"I'm not telling you which meatloaf moment made me melt" She says guardedly "That's giving a man too much power over me"

"Then....." he kisses her again ".... I will have to recreate each moment, and observe carefully to determine it for myself."

"You sneaky..." A kiss "Fiend" Returning the kiss again

"Yes."

"Come on, love.. your call, we talk favorite characters in that book, or we make love"

"Any reason we can't do both?"

"No reason in the world.." And she pulls him to her for another kiss
