"Commoner Mews, leans Unseelie" SHe continues

"I'm listening." he settles her on his lap. The cat flicks her tail at them.

"Not a satyr traggo, sadly but it does have satyrs, and one of the holders is a satyr. They play a bit fast and loose with enchantments... and mortals here and there. Apparently they quite enjoy making dreams come true, or humbling the arrogant"

"Ooo, now I'm listening with acute interest."

"Would you like to make a trip?"

"I thought about it, but what if I'm one of the arrogant they want to humble" A wink

"They will have to come through me first."

"Ooo so feisty" She grins though

"The feisty-ist." He assures her with a goose.

She laughs at that and jumps a bit "Hey!"

"Yes, indeed. Well, if you're disinclined to visit this hold, is there another you'd prefer?"

"No no.. I'll give it a try." She says "And yyou may come with me. Though it iS a casino, so I need to decide a cap on how much I can lose. Steaks might be cheap though"

"Hmph. Let's say after my little retrieval trip?"

"All right" She says "And... Betrand's little job?" A brow

"Once I have the funds secured, at least a down payment."

She nods "Feel a bit guilty here... but okay"

"Nonsense. For quite a while, you have been the draw for bringing people through that door, which has funded our needs. Now, it is my turn to step up and through no fault of yours."

"I just... I'm no slacker." A frown "And I feel like one now"

"Dearest, there is not the slightest thing.... slack.... about you." And he runs his hands over her just to be sure.

"HEeey" But she purrs a bit "Nice to half my half hour of aerobics pay off"

"Even nicer that it benefits me without my sweat." He agrees smugly.

"Ha" She laughs and gropes him, "I have my OWN Ways of making YOU sweat. Think of me as your physical trainer"

"And suddenly I embrace physical effort." He says cheerfully.

That gets him a smile and a kiss, "I'm a good motivator, huh?"

"The best."

"I'm the cat's meow" She says, then wiggles fingers at their feline "Okay. I feel better now. Sometimes you really do know what to say"

He strokes her hair. "You make it easy."

"mmm " She rests her head against his shoulder and chest "Oh baby, jokes aside, I know I am not always easy to live with"

"You are as you are made, and as I love you, how should I argue with that?"

"I guess you shouldn't" She says pleased

"But, nevertheless, I'm very lucky to find a man who feels that way"

He laughs, a short burst. "Oh Dearest. You are an unexpected delight, and one I do not deserve."

"Well, depending on how you look at it, true. " A grin

"No, I have it on the very best moral authority. I am a black-hearted cad without redemption. I do not deserve you."

"Have you been talking to trolls again?" Amusement

He has to chuckle. "Not when any other option presents itself. No, no.... you have -mostly- reformed me."

"Well then I don't know who is biased enough to say such a horrible thing to you" She strokes the lobe of his nearest ear

"Mmm...." a soft purr ".... oh that was years ago. I must have internalized it."

"Good. I was beginning to worry I talked in my sleep" light tease

"Sometimes you hum."

"Mmm musically I hope?"

"Oh, most certainly. I should sell tickets." with a twinkle.

"Can't." A pout "Covid"

"Poo." he agrees. "Well, we'll find a way around that. Commoner Mews."

"We will." She nods "Now. I should go shower. Don't forget to pet the dog"

"Yes, Dearest." He reluctantly allows her to slip off his lap and away.

She does slip away, and gives him a kiss as she does so.

She gets a kiss in return, and he returns to petting the dog; trading down, perhaps, but as it must be.

The dog wags.. life is great!
