William takes the opportunity to make a few preparations while he waits.

Or less proves to be an understatement. It turns out to be 40 minutes.. Two more redcaps, an Unseelie Troll, a nocker with a wicked looking scar.

William nods, looking the troops over. "We're prepared, are we? Thaillain."

Rocco nods, looks at the others, "You guys understand...this will get ugly, then , unless the man says otherwise, it will get clean. You get me?"

The nocker nods "Boric acid can cure all their ills. "

"We remove their blight, as permanently as possible. They have offended me."

"I like this job already, but what's the pay?" One redcap says in a rough voice that indicates at one time he had throat damage. It's healed, but the voice is ragged.

"What would you consider to be appropriate?"

Money will do. Dross is better. But a man of EBG's resources, can if he prefer , offer a few favors... ways to get glamour, contact with others looking to hire, and even future jobs as a regular thing. He soon has them sorted away in thhe coin of his choosing. Rocco chose well, these guys don't have eyes bigger than their bellies, to to speak.

".... and gentlemen, remember that sadly, such actions are sometimes necessary and if you prove reliable and cost-effective there will be work in the future."

"Good enough for me" The troll grunts and readies his sawed off shot gun, which for him is almost a pistol...

William nods and leads them out to the alley.

There, he uses his Arts and experience to seek out his enemies.

The thallian are already gathered around another mortal , a belagured looking boy in a wheel chair who is being told his drawings suck and he's really not that good. What's he gonna offer?

"Take them." He orders softly. "I will take care of the mortal."

He veils himself and heads for the boy.

The ogre turns and gets a bullet in the head. Clearly the Thallian were expecting a fair fight.

Their mistake

When he draws close, William stays out of the line of fire and uses Legerdemain to move the wheelchair away....

The boy is confused and scared and then freaks as the Thallian, in self defense, invoke the wyrd. But it's a bit too little too late. The ogre , arleady dead but too stupid to realize it, goes down fast... the goblin curses and whips out a buzzsaw only to have it bit in half by Rocco. The other caps join in. The Thallian did not have the element of surprise, nor are they the supeior fighting force here.

And the boy is now in with a certain boggan. "What's going on?" Baffled scared as monsters fight monsters but at least he wasn't totally ravaged. That was intruded upon.

"Sshhhhh......" He wipes his hand over the boy's eyes and forehead, invoking calm and adjusting a few memories. You were beset by miscreants, and a group of good-hearted citizens drove them off, sending you home.

Relief floods his features. Oh his art my reveal more than what his memory recalls, but that will be chalked up to a boys fancy.

And soon, the last thallian is alive, whimpering for mercy as he's hauled up.

Rocco spits "Mercy isn't something I was told to give ." He eyes the Thallian "Boss, you want to plug this one? Or should we just finish him off?"

"Finish him." He finds the boy's ID, not bothering to glance at the last Thallain. "Then we'll take.... Christopher..... in the direction of home."

Damn, this is one COLD boggan.....

Rocco nods, he takes his hat off, and seems to drop his lower jaw impossibly hugely large....

The last Thallian realizes what's about to happen...but his scream is cut off before it begins as one of the other redcaps 'pushes him in'

It takes five chomps... but evidence is gone

Christopher is faced the opposite away, of course.

The other redcaps seem to eye their boggan employer with new found respect. His ruthlessnes and coldblooded atitutde is seen as something they can work with, and for. Acids and chemicals erase other signs... indeed, if there is going to be any indication something happened here it's merely that the alley is..cleaner than before.

Which suits Emerson just fine. "Now, if one of you will see our friend here hime, I will meet you all at the Club. Use the rear enterance."

"I got him" The troll say with a nod. Christopher is wheeled off. The others nod at the orders and move on. Mr. Stodgepole can hear the Nocker say "Furk, guys managed this sort of thing before. You can see it in his eyes. Didn't blink."

That does bring a small smile to his lips. Still feels good to do good....

No one will even know the motely of Thallian existed save for his clean up crew, and they will say nothing he doesn't want said. Soon enough, all of them (most by the back entrance) are at the club.

He ensures they are paid as preferred and includes a bonus. "Excellent work. I shall remember."

"Nice... any time," The nocker says.

The troll nods with a grunt.

The caps take theirs, "Thanks for the tip, Rocco."

"My pleasure. Now, please excuse me."

They nod, and see themselves out, save for Rocco who hangs around in case he's needed.

"Thank you, Rocco. Excuse me." And he goes to check on CC.

CC sleeps gently, the balefire working it's magic slowly, probably too slowly for his liking

Just seeing her helps.

She stirs slightly but not enough to wake her.

Someone touched her, hurt her, that someone is now just a memory, barely that.

He settles in to wait for her.

An hour passes and she stirs mm "God that was some.. ooo" Tender on the leg still but it is better

He is at her side immediately. "Dearest?" Softly.

"oh? How long have I been out?" She sstirs "Leg's a bit better but I think I'll still leave it be."
