"OH!" He clutches his chest, struck. "She got me...." He falls over.

A throaty chuckle then a look to William, "Remind me not to like him too much. Cute enough to be dangerous."

William sighs heavily. "A curse, as I am all too well aware. We struggle under it."

Alexis snorts. "He's a pain in the ass." Which 'he' is not clear.

Joey flips over, grins, and waggles his bare feet at CC.

"Yes yes, your adorable. Shoo, and take your sister with you."

Grinning, Alexis swallows. "Huh. Yeah, ok." She collects up the rest of the patties, kicking her boot out at Joey. "C'mon. We'll be back."

Joey rolls to his feet, staggers slightly, and limps over to give CC another hug.

She returns a hug "Uh huh. Greedy Hugger." A smile "Go on."

Joey high-fives William, and trots unevenly away, slipping out the mirror door. Alexis sucks her teeth, swallows. "Ya know... never told you we were any relation to each other. I guess B blabbed? Fuckin' pillow talk, man... you never used to fall for that." She shrugs. "Whatever. I'll see you later." And she struts out, chewing on another patty.

A snort "As if I couldn't tell. Your own complainst about him screamed 'he's annoying little brother' . "

William watches her go with amusement.

She immediately searches her self to see what the pooka either took, or planted on her.

There's a sign on her back. Kick Kiss me.

"Cute." She tears it off, and checks anyway. Indeed, she goes carefully over inch of where the two were, looking for listening devices (Which shouldn't work inside the hold s he doesn't think but you never know)

"Ah." He rises and joins in the search.

Once she is satisfied there are no chimerical ears or treasures that spy, she turns to William, her eyes narrow "William. Can you guess why you're in trouble?"

A wide eye. "I'm in trouble?"

"Deeper and deeper, yes," A tap of a hoof

"Dearest, forgive me! What did I do?" He seems genuinely puzzled and... innocent?

"Let's see, either you're running some con on them and left me out, or you're actually answering to some other woman ? " A tap tap of hoof "I've told you, you can have as many lovers as you like, but I better be the woman you love and you better not be serving any other woman but me."

Jealous, possessive, and not feeling bad about that! nope!

Impossibly, his eye gets even larger. "I would never leave you out of a con, you're far too much fun to have along! The only other woman I'm seeing is Janet, and her only a few times a month, as busy as we both are! Whatever are you talking about??"

"Then who is this 'her' they're going on about?"

"And why are they acting like you answer to her?"

Foot tapping more impatiently

Realization dawns, and he relaxes visibly. "Oh good heavens...." A relieved chuckle. "Come and sit with me...." He leads her (if she will) to a booth.

She goes and sits down, "Well?" Too heated to be cool, too crisp to be warm

He explains as they go. "Their older sister, a sluagh, who has filled the role I used to play for our little organization. And yes, we've discussed a price to pay in order to leave the work"

He sits next to her. "I have not paid, yet. And she'll be in the area soon, I think. Perhaps it's time."

"A price ? That's ridiculous"

"Well, it's worked so far." Mild afront.

"You set this up, why would you owe anything to leave. Shouldn't they pay you for setting up the network and you handing it over?"

He shakes his head. "Lead by example, Dearest. I would not ask anyone else to do something I would not."

A frown, "So... you're saying you're setting a price so anyone following you might have to pay Their price? " Hoof tap

"Yes. And because of the prices paid before now. To include one paid by Mr. Frank King, by the way."

A scowl and pout "What is your price?" A mutter grumble

"Well, I might negotiate that." Mildly.

"Well, what is she asking for?" Nails on the furniture.

"We have not actually discussed it, Dearest." Calmly. "I set things up so that I could take a sabbatical, placing great truth and responsibility in her. I have not spoken to her often, since."

"Damn it. You should have told me there were yet more strings."

"Typically, it would be a mission that would guarantee the departing individual would not be able to betray the network without sacrificing themselves as well."

"Dearest...." He takes her hand carefully. "We discussed the matter. In a roundabout way. I apologize if this seems to come out of the blue."

but she takes a breath and tries to calm

"I'm sorry." Sincerely, with a big brown eye.

"Oh, if Alexis threatens you again, I may have her forget herself and wake up turning tricks in Tijuana. I know a guy."

He tsks. "Dearest, that's just her way. If she was actually going to do anything, she wouldn't say a word. She's far too direct and brutal for that."
