A food truck rambles through the streets of Fort Davis

The driver looks for a promising spot, somewhere with foot traffic around lunch time, maybe something with any kind of seating?

Mmm this street has a market plaza of sort, and there are plenty of benches. NNot sure if he needs a permit with the plaza to sell here but you never know until you try

At least the truck has all the permits, hard-won at that. The driver finds a spot and parks carefully, then goes about setting up.

A woman peeks out of her store, a Clurichaun

The driver is thin; his ethnicity might best be described as "American southwest"; hispanic, native, and white blended over generations. Denim and a teeshirt with a thigh-length white apron and cowboy boots.

Truck sides and slides open, overhead sign lit up, A-frame sidewalk sign set out.... he goes in and washes his hands, getting his prep out.

The clurichaun peeks out and checks things out, "Hello?"

The sluagh looks up, masked and gloved. Still, it's clear what he is. He comes to the ordering window and points to the menu. "Help you?"

"Oh, I'm Bea TK.. I run the shop over there. Just being noisy." She admits, "You new to town?"

"Not really new; been in the area for a while. Just got my licenses for this, though."

"Not -just- got them but.... mortal beauracracy."

"Oh well, your kith hid better than most when Harkson was around. Which only makes sense. Look, if you feel yourself getting dim, don't be afraid to head to the freehold. The new Baroness? She maybe Liam, but she's being far by everyone so far." A nod then she adds "You picked a decent location, in about 20 minutes it'll pick up. " A sniff "What do you cook? "

"Native stuff. Some for the tourists but other stuff that's real." He points at the menu again.

She looks over it "I see.." A brow "Well, I'll try something. Tha way I can put people your way if I find it ggood. What do you suggest? I'm not used to seeing a non boggan doing the cooking"

A shrug. "There's the usual stuff, and I got a premium dish that changes every couple of days, when I can. Today it's pine nut crusted bass filets. Also got a three sisters soup."

"What's a three sisters soup?"

The menu shows the 'usual stuff' is fry bread, chili, berry pudding, tamales, and some snacks like pemmican.

"Beans, corn, squash."

"You know, I think I like the sound of that. Three Sisters soup, please" She reaches to pay "You prefer cash or plastic, I got both"

He indicates the card reader, and turns to the truck interior. In a matter of moments she has a take-away bowl of soup and a dish with a piece of fry bread in it for a reasonable price!

"Nice meetingg you...oh, say, what's your name?"

"My white name is Cliff Torres." he whispers.

""Well whatever you want to be called, Cliff. Nice to meet you" She heads off to try the soup

Cliff nods in response, not bothering to try to be heard, and flips a switch on the wall. Soft salsa plays from speakers outside the truck.

Sure enough, regular plain jain mortals come up.

His truck has been slightly customized to compensate for his weaknesses; there's an electronic sign that indicates when an order is ready and the speakers pause to announce the order as well in English and Spanish via a text-to-automated voice program. He serves chili, fry bread, and tamales; a few order and recieve the premium dish of fish.

Taco type things are expected, but some light up at the options

"Pepper! There's a truck playing music!" Grete peers out the window of the luxury towncar as they drive back towards the Hold, after stopping to pick up some school supplies in town. "What is that?"

"I think it's a food truck, you never seen a food truck?" Put Pepper does slow down

"No..." She marvels at it. "Mama doesn't even think we should eat out anywhere that doesn't have table clothes and valet."

"How can they cook food in a truck? Is it boxed lunches?" Rolling down the window to peer more curiously without the tinted glass in the way.

"Here, let's show you"

She pulls over

Grete hops out of the car and wanders over, standing on her tip-toes to peek over the truck service window. "Hello?"

A.... sluagh..... looks back at her. Nods greeting.

And then suddennly, a troll comes up behind the girl "Sec" And gives her a bit of a lift so she can see the sluagh a eye level

Then Pepper raises a brow "Okay, was no expecting ... this may not be for us, grete. The food might a little... over seasoned"

"Oof!" Surprise, and a grin as she can see, then - "Oh." She sounds dismayed on seeing the proprietor. "It smells good, though." Disappointed.

"Not over seasoned." the sluagh responds softly, trying to be heard over the fan "Not to my taste, but not overseasoned."

"Oh.." Pepper says making it out with effort "Well, Grete, if you want to try something, sure"

The sluagh taps the menu; fry bread, Indian tacos, tamales, three sister soup (with fry bread), pine nut bass filets, a berry pudding......

(Chili)

"What are tam-allies?"

Pepper is surprised "you've never had a tamalee?"

She shakes her head!

"Ah, " Pepper nods "Can you give us a sampler platter .. something so she can try a little bit of everything?"

"Mama said that it's important to have a cultured palate." She parrots, with a bit of a grimace. "But she just meant expensive things. These don't cost anything, hardly?"

"The prices seem reasonable " Pepper says, not addinng 'so far'
