"I'm not much good at sports. I'm pretty strong, I think... but I'm not quick. And I can't catch or throw..."

"You're plenty strong" A nod

"Yeah, but I'm not... bendy, you know?"

"And I don't like running, either!"

"You miss all the good stuff if you go fast."

"Well uhm. .I'm not fast either but maybe it'll be okay " Ashlee says

She links an arm through Ashlee's. "Okay then! We can stick together."

And the warning bell rings "Lets' get to class"

Off they go!

"My name" Says their gym teacher, their tall tall gym teacher "Is Mr. Biggs. I may seem old... and I am" Redfang grins "But If I can keep my old body in shape, figures I can help you get yours there."

Grete exchanges a glance with Ashlee, a little uncertain about this teacher.

: Tyrnod Redfang seems to have gotten a job here when he's not in charge of the Thanes at Brightwinds "Oh don't get those worried looks. All of you will do fine"

Well, now she remembers where she knows the teacher from... and just looks uncertain about the GYM part.

"Now, I know everyone's favorite sport... one where you can practice your hunting and inter tribal warfare skills. Dodgeball!"

The sociopaths in the class light up with hellish glee

(Okay, ST's own PTSD regarding dodgeball kicking in..sorry)

Grete looks dismayed. A mutter to Ashlee, "Great, I'm target practice."

"I'm bigger than you. I'm the first one they're going to go after" she winces

"But first, we split into teams" He says

Irene bounces. She LOVES gym!

"You do okay if you CATCH the ball! Then you can throw it back!"

The piskie is also fast.

Grete tries to edge a bit behind Ashlee.

Aishlee says "She lives for this"

"It's not as much fun if you can't catch." Grete whispers over.

"Just pretend they're rocks!"

"Okay let's see who gets on what team" And he starts to sort... handing yellow sashes to some, and black sashes to others.

Oh geez, what if they get on opposite teams?

BIG eyes up at the troll, holding on to Grete and Ashlee's hands.

CHIN. FIRM. ROCK.

GRIP HANDS. NO RELEASE.

And black sash to Ashlee...black sash to Irene... yellow to Grete.. Yellow to the next kid

Alarm!

"Mr. Biggs?"

A siiigh and she puts on the sash. "I don't want to get in trouble my first day. Already here against Mama's better judgement."

"Yes?" he turns

"Mr. Biggs, you made a mistake. Grete needs a black sash, please."

"It's not a mistake, it's random. Sometime in life we have to work with folks we don't know" he explains "or maybe who aren't our friends. don' worry, you'll still be friends afer this"

"But SIR?" Ashlee says "it's her FIRST day"

Nod nod! "Very first day!"

One girl fusses, "Coach Biggs, we can't show favoritism.. besides, she's got enough priviliege before coming here. You know who her uncle was?"

"Can't say I care if I do" Mr. Biggs says to the girl.

A SCOWL. "I'm on the yellow team." And she moves off to that direction.

"Oh..."

The one girl, Sara Jo, finds herself getting a yellow sash and joining the team of Grete!

Grete eyes her. And looks for the dodgeballs...
