BettyKae nods at Grete "Oh they do. I refuse to offer any items in the store that I am not prepared to buy for myself. I want to be passionate about them." Then notes the Spear "Are..we expecting trouble?"

"I'm just being prepared, but I don't think so," Sylvi says with a smile.

She checks the sign and then checks her wallet. "Grete, you can pick two, okay?"

BettyKae looks , a silent question at Hope

Hope says "Oh, no, Betty. I don't think she'll be just taking what she wants"

Sylvi peruses the shelves, picks up a few items.

Indeed, she has fished out the ten dollar bill.

"Oh! Oh, wow, no...I'm buying, not taking. Sorry, didn't mean to scare you!"

"Oh not you I... the old baron used to take what he wanted" Betty exxplains looking at Sparrow

Grete is HYPER FOCUSED, trying to decide.

A snort. "Of course he did. What an as-.. jerk."

"I would get it for you, Lady Sparrow. But he took my cards and allowance away." A glance at Hope. "Maybe you can find them?"

"I'll look for it, and donate 20 to the cause" She takes out a bill of her own "You can pay me back"

And that to Grete

Chewing at her lip, as she compares, and finally settles on two stones. "These feel like they're from someplace... hot." A nod.

"Things have changed. Don't worry, Grete, I got these covered."

Sylvi brings a couple of knick-knacks and a hand-woven shawl to the counter. "For the folks back home," she explains. "If I don't bring back gifts, I'm a goner."

"My mom's going to love the shawl."

"Is a lot of this stuff from local crafters?"

Her wings shift a little as she looks around, considering.

BettyKae looks surprised at Sparrow's talk, then nods to Hope "I see why you told me she was .. well, what you told me" Then she looks to Sylvi "Oh yes! That's a Lesootho Shawl actually, not from here, but so much is local crafting... " She motions "Obviously I'm to the gills with Yule homecrafts but I have so much"

"I don't want to be too forward, since we've just met... but.. so you have different artists? Like, display space in exchange for a percentage of the sale?"

"Oh of course. We've got quite the little artistic community here" she says "Here... these silver snuff boxes? Local Nocker Kinian. This quit from a little old dreamer"

"Oh, look at the chasing!" Happy feather ruffle. "And the colors!"

Sylvi nods as Sparrow asks about the local crafters.

BettyKae seems to relax around the Liam as they share a common interest "Oh yes... she doesn't try to make it invisible, instead she makes it another form of art.."Showing the stitching

Grete is admiring the silver on the snuff boxes.

"I love how she contrasts the curves of the quilting with the angular patchwork..."

"Did you know Silver is the official precious metal of Texas? " She remarks to... anyone who may listen

Hope leans over to Sylvi "I think the Baroness just made a friend for life"

"I didn't! Does it have a gemstone, too?"

Bettykae is not inattentive and smiles at the childling "Hence the Lone Ranger silver bullets"

"Yes! But it's not a rock. But it... is....?"

She looks a little puzzled. "It's petrified."

"We all get scared sometime dear" Hope says

Oh dear. Her humor has kicked in again

Sylvi grins and nods to Hope.

"Do you have one?" Looking to Betty. "Palmwood?

And then a groan at the bad joke.

"Surely do" BettyKae shows her the samples

"Oh...what about...any fossils here? Local ones? We were wondering about that before."

She plucks an oval of palmwood and shows it to Sparrow. "See? It has... memories of being a plant. But it's a rock."

"Oh you'd have to talk to the professor about some of it..." Bettykae says "But yes, as a matter of fact" She goes to get a fosil, not a large one, and shows it

"That's.. oh.. a, what's it... metamorphic rock?"

"The professor's a paleontologist" Hope explains

"Is the professor one of ours?"
