well, so much for warmer climes!

Sparrow is wearing a blanket like a cape - the bulk of her personal effects are still at Earth Runes. But, well, this isn't so cold she can't handle it.

Yes, probably not a good idea to fly

Well, it IS almost December.

Hope comes up "Baroness, there you are... could you take off the blanket? i'd like to try something"

"I.. sorry, I was just a touch chilly. I didn't mean to cause insult..." She shrugs off the blanket.

"Oh nonsense. I just think this will be better" She pulls out a Poncho of blue wool with silver fur "It's in your house colors yes?"

"Oh, it is!"

"Well, the ladies realized you might not be ready for our winter months and with your wings this should allow you to stretch them to the side when you need to use your wings" She says

She tests this, spreading her wings. A nod of approval.

It's really well made and comfy "Mind you, you'll want a lighter poncho for warmer weather"

"Winter is often frustrating - coats are hard. I have to cut slits, or try to stuff my wings inside. Had a few jobs where I couldn't modify the uniform, and it was just...." Shiver. "Banal."

"This is very soft. Thank you, hope."

"You're welcome, Baroness. And I know what you mean, I don't have wings, obviously, but a local changeling does so ponchos are one thing we know by experience can slide by. who doesn't love Clint Eastwood movies?"

"Ha! Oh, I really do. There's an appeal - like, the knight errant appears, saves the innocent..."

"the mysterious stranger" A nod and smile "Some roles seem universal ." Hope fusses over the Baroness a bit more but then nods "Yes, we got the size right. How are you liking the hold itself? It'schangeing more and more ot suit you but if there's something we can do to help?"

"It's really fine. I.. suppose I should take steps at finding a place to avoid bedlam, and look for a job here.."

"Well, employment can be tricky in these times. As for bedlam, well, that's not so hard. Anyone of us will put you up. Or you could just by something with the treasurey's money"

"Maybe it would be wise to, say, get a little place where anyone could request a stay. I wouldn't wish to be a burden..."

"You are so.. different"

"Well, I'm not too atypical for a Liam. We're not usually as... " She considers. "Materially wealthy as other houses."

"A good chunk of us are autumn, if you are familiar with the distinction. So there's a bit more random luck of the draw in where we pop up. Arcadians often pick wealthy hosts."

"Well, the old baron's money is yours now" She says "Did you want to live in HIS old fall back for Bedlam?"

She blinks. "Oh. I... I hadn't considered."

She laughs, a little. "You need to understand, before Earth Runes took me in, I was struggling to make it in a studio apartment in Kansas City. I worked the night desk at a hotel. I'm afraid I'm not very glamorous."

"Oh, there can be a glamour in meeting and greeting people" The barista smiles "I can sometimes tell what's wearing a soul down, what gives them hope... but yes, there are other times it wears."

"Well..." A gesture at her wings. "I like people, mortals are our house's special protectorate... but sometimes they can be scary, too."

"Banality, or just plain mean folk" She nods

She nods. "Or stalkers. Ones who follow you."

"That ever happens near my shop you ask for Pink Angel spice in your latte"

A smile. "You're good people, Hope."

"Oh please, lots of bartenders do the same thing" Waving it off

"Doesn't make it less good."

"Well, thank you then for the praise"

"So... the Baron had a place?"

"Oh yes. 202 E Victorio Trl,... it's really not a mansion but it..it's odd"

"Well, Balor tend to not be right in the head."

"I can get the keys and show you it if you want"

"Texas will be easier with a car, at that"

"Oh my. .yes. I'm afraid public transporation isn't big around here"

"Well - spread out, low density."

"Good for keeping your own business, but there's downsides."

"Oh my yes. I love it here, but I would be lying to say it was heaven.. and it surely isn't Arcadia. " She says

"What is?"

"Truth. What's Missouri like? I hear very green but.. other than that"

"Well... a mix." She looks thoughtful. "Kansas City was hard for me. But the city had a lot to offer - museums, and fun places, and schools and music. But it had a lot of crime, and a lot of struggling folks. Jefferson City is quieter, on both fronts."

"Oh I think you maybe bored here. There are spots.. but I'lls how you them because they're easy to overlook"

"I don't know. Hard to be bored with this much space..."

"Oh our sky is gorgeous"
