"oh god, it hurts so much, it's like FIREEEE...."

the bathroom at the empty golf course is normally locked at night

But the guard had the key

And damn it, he's using it

Not far away, two figures (tall and short) in dark blues, dusty greys, and midnight purples work on the greens.

Another guard snoozes.

CC mutters in her disguise "Nice work" as they work the greens

"Piffle. Disappointingly simple compounds, worth a pooka-prank, perhaps. A bit of creativity to avoid identification and there we are."

He grunts with effort as he searches.

The 13th hole looks like any other, but the drainage carefully hidden there gives the clue they need there migght be more than water seepagge there. And he finds the patch of green that is off hue from the rest ever so sliggghtly.

"Dearest....."he murmurs, and points it out.

"Yes, but remember traps," She warns "You or I?" as to who should seek them

"You had sharper eyes than I last time." he admits "But I am loath to put you at risk."

"You first" she nods

He nods and examines the area before touching, looking for triggers and traps before he touches anything, and then, only touching carefully. He did not live this long without learning from experience.

His fingers find a the tripwire easily enough, and soon is bypassing it

And yes, a slipery ramp opens up

He is careful to make sure there are no OTHER traps, as was the case before. Slippery... someone wants me to hit the end at speed....

"Bit of rope?" She offers

"More than a bit, Dearest, it has to go around my waist. Mission: Impossible, here we go......"

She laughs, and helps fasten him to a rope which she secures

He searches, albeit briefly, for a way to avoid the ramp. Never follow the path they have prepared for you....

Clever ole grump... there's no way to avoid the ramp enitrely, but about a third of the way down, he hears a hollow sound to the side. A hidden passagge within the hidden passage that most would slide ride past

"Hold!" he hisses up to Callidora, slowing himself as best he can. He searches for traps and triggers.

She does, she has a pulley set up so she doesn't need to be strong herself

And once again, a triggger is found, this one a snare, meant to catch whoever, and hold them there until they starve. How lovely. A bit of a snip, and it's clear path

"You may lose the rope evetually" CC warns him

"With luck I won't need it." he shines a small pen-light into the opening, carefully, ready to retreat and/or slam the trap door shut.

Revealed are tiny snakes, leading up to a woman's head? Wait...

He looks away from the perserved Medusa head JUST in time

He whips his head sharply away, breathing hard and with a light dew appearing on his forehead. "Delightful."he mutters.

"Dearest.... could you possibly pass down your compact?"

And so it is passed down "Trouble?"

He takes the item, opens it, and shines the light into the trap to illuminate while also showing it the mirror.

"Oh good lord" She says when she realizes

The head is blocking the path to what looks to be a nicely compact nook of treasure behind it!

He uses the mirror after a moment, to see if the scene is safe.

It would appear it is, as longg as he doesn't look directly at that preserved medusa head

"I'll need the bags you brought, Dearest.... in a moment." he wiggles into the passage using the mirror and not looking at the head, and then bags it so there is less of a hazard.

She nods "I'll have them ready"

Then he turns to the Treasures, but carefully, looking for traps. Didn't get this far to be caught....

A snuff box, a jewelry box with an ornate lock and blazing with glamour, and a sealed book under plastic.

He checks again for any traps or snares.
