THAT Makes Basil laugh "No no..."

"oh way back at middle school they tried to give me the tuba. Oh HELL no"

Shrug, frown. "Not really mine, either. Dunno."

"Do you think Tove would be up for a visit? I know she's gotta be busy with the new baby and all. But I wanted to talk to her about an instrument commission... and the contest."

"I think she'd be grateful for non-baby conversation. Hey, Basil, you wanna come along?"

"Tuba IS impressive - do you know the lung capacity you need for one of those suckers?" Then suddenly curious. "I wonder if I Mer can breath through their gills and play at the same time - the possibilities of endless notes..." Uh oh, you're losing her, eyes glazing over...

Marsha nods "Dagmar's right... Tove is begging for some non baby related quesstions... no offense Dagmar, she loves your brother but he's a handful"

"He is. Gonna try to convince her to take a night off soon, I think."

"Maybe I can trade her babysitting for woodwork."

"Maybe! Though I was thinking of asking Ann Marie..."

"For.. uh.. reasons."

"I mean, I'll gladly pay in dross or cash, now that I have some, but the more dolla dolla bills I can use to furnish my apartment, the better." Piper looks curious on that.

"Your dad has a truck too, right? I was looking at Greg'sList and there's a guy selling a HZYOORKU dresser, and I'm sure buying presswood swedish stuff probably offends all sorts of Nordic sensibilities, but a pickup WOULD be handy to nab that.

Basil says "Well, I hope to meet a lot of folk. So.. cool"

"He has a pickup, yeah."

"Cool - maybe I can bribe some moving help. Adam has a car, but there's only so much trunk space."

"Oh yeah, that's no good for furniture."

Piper zips up to the room and down again, and has a backpack ready. "Alright, let's jam. Normally I'd be wary about taking a fresh hatched chickie like you out, Baz, but with Dagmar around, no one can bother us." A grin to her. "She's a force of nature. Cool and mysterious as a clouded sky, then WHAM - lightning if you done messed up."

Purple, shrug.

Oh, Basil might notice the VERY LARGE polearm on her back...

"I was kind of wondering what the hell that thing is" He says looking at the Flyswatter "Because it looks like it could gut conan"

"Flyswatter? It's a halberd. I woke up with it."

"Damn, how come I didn't arrive with anything" He looks at his side "Well, sides some clothes"

That's when Dagmar notices the ring on his finger

"Voile. Everybody at least gets that. You probably know some magic, too."

"Oh... hey..."

"The ring new?"

"What ring? I.." He looks down

"Hello..." he says surprised

"Oh, that's pretty..."

Dagmar kens it.

It's got some pretty potent glamour. It's not just for decoration, it's a treasure

"Oh yeah, magic ring."

"Not sure what it DOES..."

"Does it have to DO anything? " he rubs at it.

"If a genie comes out of it, dibs on the first wish" Lydia says!

"Lydia!" Marsha says

"No genies!"

"Awwww" Lydia says

but as it turned out, there were no genies.
