Eventually Brekke does manage to get back to the Lodge. A genie, a negotiation, two wishes, a new sidhe... She shakes her head as she approaches the front door. It is late.

She can see Frank's outline on the porch, sitting. He stands.

"Mountain. My Heart. You have heard?"

"Bits and pieces. Most of it, I think." He dismounts the porch and walks to her. "I am sorry."

She reaches a hand to him as he approaches. "Sorry? I am not. We gained a great wish tonight, if I can find a way to muse those Dreamers."

A soft grunt, taking her hand as he does. "Yes. If you wish, I will help."

She nods. "I will also want you to visit him, to see if you can determine....well, what he is. Or what he needs to do in order to awaken. I have never seen anything like this."

A moment of quiet. "I feel like a fool."

"A fool? Why?" A slight squeeze of his hand.

"In retrospect. It's obvious, isn't it?"

A blink. "If it were obvious, I would not be asking."

Frank squeezes her hand back with a shift of his beard.

"I will visit him, of course. See how his family is doing."

A sigh. "Adam. All his..... conflict, his challenges, his efforts."

"What about them makes you a fool?"

A rueful look. "Siv. It all reminds me of Siv."

"Ah. I...yes, I can see this."

Frank nods. "I didn't recognize it."

"Trying to find a place, to justify the space one occupies."

"Is that what you mean?"

He nods. "That. And his .... behaviors. Look at them through the lense of a Fiona Sidhe and... they are almost normal. But until he -finds- that space....."

"Ugly Duckling," she mutters with a slight grin.

Frank looks guilty. "I suppose."

"Frank. None of us knew. I knew he was sidhe kinain. I wished for him to be made sidhe, and of a seelie house. That Fiona fits him well is a relief. At least, I see it so. But that does not mean that is what he always was."

Frank gives her a look. "You see him as being Eiluned at some point?"

"I do not. All I am saying is that you may not have missed anything, but that Da'an bestowed a House that is a suitable fit for the person he already is."

"Mmphm."

A fond look. And then a sudden shift to urgency. "Oh. Frank. So much has occurred, I almost forgot. The genie...he said the two who were fighting over his lamp....one was shadow court."

Frank sobers immediately, serious. "Tell me."

"A satyr. Female. Fighting a...possibly an inanimae? I am uncertain. That is all I know. Adam would know more, he saw them."

A beat.

"And..... yes, I should go. Find out more from him."

"Not this night, I think. It is late. Speak with him in the morning. He is overwhelmed now."

"Shadow Court, Brekke."

A long moment. "If you feel this is what is needed. But I think you should let him have one night's rest. Him and his family. The lamp is gone, so if they seek it with cantrips, they will know it is not here."

"You will sleep knowing that an agent of the Court is here?"

"I did not say that I would."
