"oh that little..."

"Well, school's a drag."

"And I'm glad he's there to keep an eye on Dad."

"You know he saved Torin, right?"

"I'll drag him by his little tail if he pulls this sort of thing without letting me know" Gerd grumbles protectively

Then she smiles "Yeah. I heard. Felt so bad for not being there"

"He'll be fine. I mean, he's not gonna grow up any time soon, so what's the race?"

"Well... when he does grow up, I may not be around. I want him prepared. I want him to be able to do things better than i did, to BE a better person. I want to make sure he has the tools he needs to be happy , safe, AND a benefit to the commun.. oh god I sound like a grump" Alarm

"You kinda do."

"I mean, there's a pandemic on, everything sucks... ain't gonna hurt for him to be Buddy. He can catch up with the DeBukes."

"I guess," A sigh "And I am glad he gives your dad company and your dad is teaching him a bit on the side... you watch, one day that pup is going to a thunderclap cantrip with his tail"

"Oh yeah. Thunderpup."

A smile at that, then "Sure you don't want to tap on the window, wave to your dad?"

"Well... that shouldn't hurt."

She pulls the mask from her pocket (Avengers fabric and all) before approaching the store. She gives the line a decent berth.

And through windows she can see her father finishing up with one customer. He has a blue mask that has her school logo on it!

Tap-tap-tap

Buddy gives a polite boof at the window.

Jaymes turns , and one can see by his cheeks he smiles

"Hey" he says through the window "How goes?"

Thumbs-up!

He nods.. "Second." A sound as he vanishes just for a moment, then, he comes back. Two ice slushie things, one he pionts to her, the other he points to Gerd... then, gathering the pup, he backs up.

Meaning for her to open the window and get them!

"Wiped it down" he says "It's clean"

Nod-nod, and she opens the window.

"Rock on!"

Six feet away from his daughter, a grunt ("Rock on")

As she claims her prizes

"Blue!" A triumph!

The pup also has a tinge of blue on his muzzle...

"Oh he's gonna be hyper later" Gerd observes

"Well, maybe."

The two teenage girls back away with their cups.

And the window closes

And Buddy goes back to schmoozing the folk in line. They can't pet him, but he trots up and down, wagging his tail cutely, and goes a few simple tricks.

"awwwws" abound

Gerd and Dagmar walk away "Your dad's pretty damn cool, mostly because he doesn't try too hard to be. know what i mean?" Slurp

"Agreed." Slurrrrrrp.

And off the two go.. the last part of this patrol on their way to lodge ..delicious
