And so it is, That Dagmar finds herself on patrol with Gerd, Into the apartment complex

"You ever been here before?" Gerd asks as they go in

"I haven't. Heard it's kinda sketch?"

"Yeah, well, satyr central," She says "And Lucia says some of the satyr girls are kind of ..er wild ... but on the other hand, Eden and Tikki seem to have this weird 'destroy me with your love ' instant click thing going on"

"I'm pretty happy for Eden."

"If Tikki hurts her, I'll smash him."

"I don't get it," Gerd says "I don't think anyone Fair fortuned her...so how did they just ..click? "

"And yeah, you smash, I'll pop what ever is left into the lake. We each do our own thing for her"

She shrugs. "Guess it just happens, sometimes?"

"I guess" Gerd says "I crushed. ... but he didn't. Now it seems THEY are crushing. I don't know what the heck to make of it... guess I've gotten cynical in my old age" Wryly as they look around "Let's see.. this isn't too bad." the halls are clean, nicely decorated kind of a neo roman thing going on

"Yeah, dunno. I crushed, and he turned out to be a douchebag."

"Once Ii figured out how he treated everyone else, dunno... hard to keep seeing him the same way, even when he was nice to me."

"Sounds like we both learned what we don't want and what to watch out for" Gerd shrugs

Then she says "Apparently there was a Shaft Shark here? Chimerical shark living in the elevator. It got dealt with"

"But that doesn't mean there might not be other dangers" They hear a guitar, electric, from one room, played 'soft'

"Well, seems like chimera of all stripes are drawn to places with a lot of fae or kin..."

"We get the weirdest birds at the Barn."

"Yeah?" Gerd smiles

"Yeah - there's one, it'll come right up to eat seed from your palm... but when it flies off, it divides, and it lands as two birds in the azaleas!"

"I am actually a bit jealous of that, " Gerd says "Of course, there's Solstice near the Kestrel... good mouser that owl"

"Oh, he is. And handsome!"

"But wild." Wistful sigh.

"We need NON pets too, Dagmar" Gerd smirks at her, unaware of how much that makes her look like Vali, and they move to another part of the hallway.

"I know, I know."

The sound of GUNSHOTS or something like it goes off all around them!

Dag jumps. "The hell?"

Gerd has raised her shield and whirled with mace about "Shit I..."

wasted little 'blast caps' not unlike the ones you can throw down to make noise lay expended along the floor

The Gwydion scowls.

Laughter further down the hall

Gerd mutters "Remind me again I need to stop threatening to flush folks into the lake? Because I am SO tempted..."

"Real fuckin' funny." Grumble.

the two scowling wilders see a door open, and Mr. Dyers comes out looking left and right, then sees them "Everything okay here?"

"It's fine. Somebody set off caps."

A chuckle and shake of his head "Sorry, Rikki's feeling stir crazy. Oh you're hte patrol today ? How can I help?"

Grunt.

"We're just getitng a feel for the place, sir. Any trouble, strange chimera causing problems?"

"Not problems, no" Mr. Dyer says

"So nothing to worry about."

"Well," he admits "We do have a creeper vine on the outside, not harmful, but I'd sure like it removed." He says "Was going to try doing so with Tikki's help"

"I don't think that's really... like... patrol stuff?"

"I understand. you want adventure, exctiment, and to make sure no one is breaking the Escheat." The man nods "Pretty peaceful.. as far as a satyr and pooka area go. Can I get you ladies some drinks? or food?"

"I'm okay..."

"Me too" Gerd says "But thanks"

He nods "Okay. Careful on the third floor, the Creeper vine is right against the hall window there"

Eyebrow.

And he lives them be.

Gerd blinks, then says to Dagmar "I guess let's go to the third floor and see what the big deal is?"

"Right?"
