"Well, he's with someone asking about the traggo, but, please come in...dad would be cheesed if I didn't , mom too. I'll tell him you're here, and... " A look at the other satyr

"Lyron," The saytr says "So I'm not the first. Huh."

"Zane," Zane says a bit dissapointed for some reason but he hides it as best he can "Please, come in," And both enter the parlor

An eyebrow. "I see. Zane, Lyron has just arrived from the Caribbean. Lyron, this is Zane."

She follows Zane to the parlor, mindful of the ceiling.

The archs mean she may not be at risk of head bump if she goes through right in the center.

Still, it's close enough to make her duck.

Trolls learn to be cautious.

"Zane, if you let him know we are here, it might save him having to explain things multiple times."

"On it," He says "Coffee right? Right...grump trolls LUUUVE Coffee..." And he races off with satyr speed yelling "DAD!"

Satyrs in their homes are prone to a more relaxed attitude it seems

"I..." but the boy is already gone. "Hmph." She looks to Lyron. "Did the announcement you received specifically say a traggo?"

"I believe it did," he said

"Mm." She nods thoughtfully, then waits, quiet and somber, for Zane or his father to appear.

"So sorry, Chieftain, I did not know you were coming," Professor Cornellius Wayburton AND son return. the latter offering a satyr sized mug of coffee to the Chieftain.

Which to her size, probably feels like someone served coffee in a tea cup

Brekke carefully and graciously accepts the mug, which looks oddly small in her hands. Then she says to the professor, "Yes, I did not expect to be visiting, but Dame Nadeen and Lady Dagmar brought Lyron here to the Lodge so he could warm himself before coming here. I understand there are other new arrivals?" A sip of the coffee.

"Ah, and Lyron, this is Professor Wayburton."

Lyron and the professor clasp hands and shake, "Ah, young man, be welcome be welcome" Says the professor, "Glad you could make it here. Maybe not the best season, but you'll find Rivervale puts the Garden in the garden duchy more than any other fief or barony."//'Thank you, mon, folks have been real nice here to me on such a short notice"//Then the professor says "Zane, get him some brandy or whatever he likes, please. " Before turning to the Chieftain "Yes, yes. I was just talking to one but you get proririty, of course, Chieftain"

"I appreciate that, Professor. May we speak alone for a moment?" There's a note in her voice that suggests this is only just barely a request.

"Yes, yes, of course," A nod "Join me in the study? " And the professor gestures her to follow

Zane looks curious but instead turns to Lyron

She does, finishing the coffee and handing the cup off to Zane before going.

Zane takes it and tries to mask a ..sullenness about something? Hard to say, he's not happy, but he's not mad at her.

And to the study they go. The parlor is actually smaller than this, the study being more 'important' to an academic

Brekke is hardly ignorant or illiterate, but this quantity of books is not her natural habitat. She waits for him to speak first.

"Chieftain, is something amiss? Were I in college and a student this would be where I feared some conversation about my paper not being up to snuff and my GPA in danger."

She considers her words before answering. "Professor, if what I understand is correct, you have begun a process which might result in a rapid influx of changelings in this barony without giving me any warning. I am wondering why this is."

"What? I'm sorry, Chieftain. I'm not sure why there's a problem? They arent entering the freehold, and will be little to no drain on it. why satyrs excell at musing through various means. The Escheat didn't seem to indicate a requirement to announce each new comer, and you've had new changelings move in before without announcing themselves, if I'm not mistaken. I didn't think it would be a problem to assemble a traggo if we could. Why you've even encouraged trolls to rescue changelings and get them new homes..a charity I was inspired by"

"Professor, I am not saying that a Traggo is a problem. I agree with the motive of helping those in need. However, the activities I have encouraged are, of course, ones I am aware of. Whether or not they enter the freehold, I feel responsible for supporting the changelings in my lands. If you have put out a call, then there are likely to be more than one or two new arrivals who are doing more than merely passing through. I do not object, but I would have liked to have known."

"Oh," He says "Well, Cat's out of the bag now isn't it? Still, as a firm supporter of your rule, I can hardly hold your desire to keep an eye on the flow of your barony against you. Each kith has their quirks. mm? " Indulgent "But i take it we are not entering some dangerous slippery slope where papers will be required? We satyrs are a freedom loving culture"

"Of course not." Brekke looks mildly offended. "However, a Traggo is a powerful organization. I take it that we are not entering some dangerous slippery slope where my intervention will be required to protect the wishes of those who do not wish to succumb to certain Gifts?" An eyebrow.

"Oh chieftain, The gift of pan is not a terrorist act." A bit huffy now as the tables are turned, "However, I suppose as a courtesy I can put word out we should announce it's use in areas other kithain are likely to congregate if it will settle your concerns?"

"An agreement among your Traggo that that is the way of things would be appreciated, yes." She nods. "I understand its value, Professor. But I also have witnessed its less-than-responsible use. As with any fire, it must be tended with respect."

"I should tell you that Dame Dagmar and Lady Nadeen seem to have given Lyron the impression that I must approve any changeling who intends to reside in Rivervale. This is not the case. I will make sure they understand."

"I was wondering about taht last," he says, and seems glad to haer it "And that is reassuring. I have tried to explain the gift is freeing, not over riding, but, I understand one has to work in increments to make a community progress. Perhaps it will help to know that we do plan to have a code of conduct of sorts written up for the Traggo? Escheat must be follow , of course as part of it. Marsha thought it best ot put that in thoug hI thought it self evident."

"I know it is self-evident to you. However, that may not be the case for all who hear your call. Yes, that is appreciated. I would be interested in working cooperatively with you, Professor, in organization and support, but I do not intend to interfere if there is no need."

She shifts. "I should let you return to your new arrivals."

"How about I have Zane drop by to pass on notes? The boy seems odd moodswinging even for a satyr lately. This will give him something to do." he rises "And I know you have important matters of state to tend to. I will be better about keeping you posted of our progress."

"Thank you, Professor. I look forward to hearing from Zane, and I bid your Traggo well in its new life and growth."

"Always good to have your blessing" And he escorts her out

Oblivious, perhaps, that it wasn't exactly a BLESSING
