School is going on, valentine's day means everyone has candies and hearts and more

girls are in three camps. Those with boyfriends who are stupid (IE forget that it's V Day), those without Boyfriends (And resent this day reminding them of it), and those lucky ones with Boy friends who remembered and are being romantic (This group is obnoxiously happy, and the other two groups hate them)

There are, as always, outliers

This is a good day to hide in the hoodie.

Nadeen scoffs, not at the hoodie, but at the sillyiness of the decorations "Look at this. Everyone calf eyed with romantic notions and sentimentalities. This is just cloying"

"Yeah, it's dumb. Gotta make a huge damn show..."

Of course, as soon as they say that, May walks by holding JC's hand

Siiiiigh. Grump. Slam locker shut.

Cupids are very good at hiding. And the odds are slim that either notices the half hidden cupid lining up a shot

And yet, as an arrow flies, Dagmar senses a ray of glamour heading towards Nadeen, she's never seen glamour this focused before

"What's..." A frown, and she moves to interpose herself between Nadeen and whatetever.

Dagmar does not hear the cupid curse "Oh Venus' mound, she was supposed to be off limits. My year end bonus is gone."

No, she only knows that she feels.. oddly wonderful

She checks Nadeen. "You okay?"

"I'm fine," Nadeeen says "What's wrong?"

She's always known Nadeen was beautiful, she's as sidhe, but there are lots of sidhe, and Nadeen is still special.

Still magical.

Nadeen released her from an oath. Setting herfree to be happy. Nadeen has fought for good causes. Nadeen is... well, she's just so amazing

"I thought... I.. I thought I sensed something..."

"Well, you might have" Nadeen looks around "But I don't see anything now."

"Right..." She catches her lower lip with her teeth, falling into a stare.

"Anyway, this whole day seems silly, but I guess we'll muddle through."

She nods. "Guess we will. Glad you're safe." Blue fingertips graze the sidhe's cheek. "Let's get to class."

Nadeen seems surprised by the tenderness, but doesn't mind "Sure."

As they head to class, the cupid lines up with Nadeen's ass. At the least, a balance can be maintained.

Only to hit someone else, as someone crosses to the other side of the hallway at the worst possible time.

The cupid sighs. Maybe the other agents are having better luck.

Class is filled with more than one sidelong (and longing) glance at the cheerleader.

It seems a lot of that is going on with others... it's the day, after all.

Nadeen does whisper while the teacher talks "Is there something in my hair?"

"No?"

"Oh good" She brushes it behind one beautiful ear

"Sam," Five minutes later the teacher speaks, "Samantha King?"

Symon flicks a pen cap over to ping Sam in the arm. “Wake up!” He whispers.

"Huh?"

He nods towards the front of the room and waiting teacher.

"Samantha King" the teacher says "I was asking you what was wrong with the sentence I'd given to the class."

“One hour feels like a life sentence.” He mutters just loud enough for the teacher to also hear, with an exaggerated glance at the clock.

"Simon, now's not a good time to begin your standup career" the teacher says with brow lifted

"Um. I dunno."

"Well, give it a try," the teacher is not unkind, "How would you break the sentence down? " Three's nothing on the board. Dagmar didn't ..tune in for it

"Could... you tell me the sentence again?" Blood creeping into her cheeks.

"Here, let me write it out" And this time it's written out. Dagmar might, or might not, see the flaw the teacher was talking about.

When the teacher turns his back to write the sentence, Symon hisses over to her the answer. Or at least his best guess.

"...sure..." A grateful look at the sluagh and a covert thumbs-up.

And Dagmar handles it easily, pointing out the tense mistake AND the Double negative

Meanwhile, Symon eyes Nadeen, unseen. A discrete kenning- did the Sidhe do some sort of glamour whammy? Sam isn’t normally THAT glued in attention.

He knows Nadeen released Dagmar from that oath, but still...
