Adam hears the crack of a twig as the Ninja Chimera follows him.

He turns, looking to see what made the noise.

It's a ninja chimera, looks like a figure from a cheesy 70s movie...he heard it once, then it vanished

"Come out and face me, then!" He challenges.

"Gaijin dog, you dare challenge..." Even with the mask on, he can tell that the words are out of sync "A ninja!? " Flip flip flip...dramatic pose

"Were it up to me, I would slay you like the dog you are, but my master has..." Dramatic out of sync pause "other plans"

Adam squints..... Chimera or something else....?

Pure cheesy Chimera..and yet vaguely threatening..okay, it issued a threat but well you know

"I would know the secret of how you enfused mere mortals with glorious changeling ability!"

Adam's expression goes dark. "Get out of here. I have nothing to say to you."

"You have caught the eye of the ancient order of the Nine Ascendents! You would do well to parley with me... there are ways of making your mortal flesh know pain"

"Yeah, and I have kicked Chimerical ass, so you pick." Adam sets up like Dagmar showed him.

"Then..." He poses "We fight."

Adam makes a 'bring it' gesture.

The knife is chimerica, barbed and ugly, and it hits into the ninja's knee with a meaty thunk

OOC Adam has a knife?

OOC: Maybe, but that's not Adam's knife nor did he throw it.

BIC: "Beat it, Pajama Boy" Dirk snorts

OOC AH!

BIC: Adam moves defensively when the knife strikes, then again to guard against Dirk as well.

The ninja cries out in pain, then turns "Nightmare, thjis is not your fight!"

"Damn right, it's mine." Adam claims.

Dirk rolls his eyes as Adam turns defensive towards him, "I'm SAVING you, dumbass. Peacemaker."

"Tell you what, you can have whatever's left over...."

"Enough! You and your ally are now BOTH marked as enemies of the Nine Ascendents!" The ninja throws something down, and vanishes in a puff of smoke

"I coulda taken him!" Adam insists, disappointed at the missed opportunity.

"You got a real gratitude problem, you know that right?" The Cap sniffs where the ninja was, and yells out "And we ain't allies! I just ain't supposed to beat the shit out of him... only rescuing him cuz it's my thing"

"I didn't need -rescuing!-" Affronted.

"It's one NINJA, dumbass. Don't you know nothing? A group of ninja is easy, Two or three ninja is a challenge, ONE Ninja will kick your ass"

"Says you."

"Yeah, me. I'm the Peacemaker for Rivervale... and the Changeling. So maybe recognize I know things"

"Maybe you do, and maybe so do I. It was Chimerical, I could see that."

"Dude, some Chimera go Wyrd so even unenchanted they can freaking kill you... WHy do you think the Mountain's got word out we 're supposed to look out for you? You fight... great, but there's a reason numbers is strength for most of us. "

"I've -been- attacked by Chimera when I didn't have the Glow."

"Yeah, but NINJA man... single... would you give Dagmar this much shit if she came to help?" A snort

"-Dagmar- wouldn't try to fight my fights for me."

"RIght, cuz trolls don't guard things at the drop of a hat." A snort "She's foguht plenty for you but you're so full of yourself you didn't even see the skirt in front of you. "

"Guard, maybe, not not stop my from fighting my fights." Adam stops and gathers himself. "Nevermind. You wouldn't understand. But thanks for......... I don't know, trying to do your job, I guess." He turns to go.

"Fine. and..watch yourself. Not from me... this nine ass-end-dents sound like trouble. "

An untroubled shrug as he walks away.

The cap mutters and grumbles under his breath and walks the OTHER way

Adam is disgruntled but hopefully the redcap can't see that from this angle, and Adam works to mitigate his feelings.

Patrol goes smoothy enough, and quietly... whether it's a good thing to be alone or not is hard to say.

Then, he sees Zane working on the Wayburton yard

His whole visage brightens. "Hey, Dude!" He trots over.

"Hey man... " the satyr brightens too "I'm cleaning up branches and sticks and stuff, last windstorm... a real drag,"

"I'm on patrol.... but..... I can take a break?"

"Hey, that's be great, give me someone to talk to"

"Sure." Adam holsters his staff and pitches in to help.
