"Chicken patties and crinkle fries. I might get two sandwiches."

Her nose crinkles up a bit at the mention of the patties. "They can't be anything as good as the chicken things your mom made smelled. I'm doubtful they even have meat in them! I'm gonna grab a drink from the machine - want anything? Adam, d- Sam?"

"Hey...." He passes some cash. "Get lots? She had some stuff. G-C."

To both ladies.

"Dr. Pepper?"

"Mrs. (GC name) wasn't that bad... she DID give me a name to call about the archery club. Sure, though! A little good ol' corn syrup will put me all to rights."

"Ooo, archery..."

John Roberts must be in band. He enters in carrying his French Horn Case.

A nod, as she punches numbers on the vending machine and three sodas clunk out, passing them around. "For all the Sturm and Drang around the door, I thought she'd be a monster in there. Oh..." Glancing back at Adam. "Do you not like her? Sorry if it made you uncomfortable..."

A shrug. "Whatever. It's cool."

The boy might be unremarkable, but she notes the instrument case. "Oh, a hornist. And no that's not what Zane might say it is." Eyeing it with interest. "It's too bad there's no marching ocarina, or I might look into band..."

John would be surprised that his carrying the case gets him any positive interest. A few of his peers joke.... one girl mentioning to a friend how he's not going to get laid if it's not a guitar. Probably meant harmlessly.

And then he opens it...

And Piper takes her Dr Pepper, and opens it.

"I haven't dealt with her since I transferred." A shrug. "Kids 'like me' need ' support '..." eyeroll.

That's when Dagmar notices the gun in the case. All that time patrolling... paid off.

Her eyes flare for a second before she VAULTS to her feet, onto the table, over - launching herself at John Robert like a damn peregrine.

Piper might have missed the opening, but she can't miss the vaulting, coughing on her Dr. Pepper and nearly dropping the can in surprise. "Sam, what the?!"

Dagmar might not be the most agile of trolls, but she's a warrior, and she sure ain't clumsy! Before the boy can so much as get a good grip on it.. .Sam slams him to the ground in a tackle!

She slams her arm against his throat pinning him down bodily. "Don't. You. Fucking. Dare."

Leaving anyone else a now clear view of the case with a Shot gun in it!

"No.. no.." He struggles and wonders how a girl got so strong "I don't die until later... you're ruining everything!"

She can feel a vest under his jacket.. but it hardly protects him from being pinned

"Yeah, don't care."

Piper is vaulting over the tables herself and as she sees the contents of the horn case, she snaps it shut before anyone else can hopefully see it and cause a riot/panic!

Adam, just second late due to his state, charges forward and tackles the punk!!!

Or... something like it?

"Can someone get.. shit, I dunno, Vali?"

The punk is already tackled

"Go ahead." He offers.

"you assholes.. you can't cheat me of..."

"Sam, WHAT is going ON?" She clutches the closed case tightly, as though afraid it might explode. "Oh, I can... let me just - two shakes - oh, don't hurt him, though..." She pushes the case at Adam. "Don't drop this, please!" And she runs out of the cafeteria, her sneakersteps turning into flying hooves once she rounds the corner to dart towards Vali's office.

He takes it and seems.... offended. "What? The... what?"

Mr. Gardener's office isn't hard to find. He leaves the door open usually

And she finds him there grading papers

She practically crashes into it with a clatter of hooves, then grabs his arm. "Come-on-have-to-go-it's-important!" Trying to get everything out in one breath, as her butterfly flits wildly around her racing-mussed hair.

"Yeah. I'm the asshole."

Adam looks at the case... mortal slow.... and then.....

Vali breaks into a run, he can't keep up with a satyr's full speed mind but he makes his way

Others are asking what's going on...

"The hell, dude!"

Adam starts to carry the case away, to a window or.... something.

and Lupe motions to May.. and both girls form a barrier to other students.

She has not given him an inch. "Adam, just.. just stay put, okay?"

She gives him the jist of what's going on as they hurry, as long as no one else is in earshot. "Kid... not a horn... Dagmar came out of nowhere - gave it to Adam..."

She glances along the walls, tempted to pull the fire alarm, but that might just cause more of a panic...

"We got this," Vali says to her, calmly "Good work." And comes into view, "Sam. You got him?"

Grunt.
