She massages her temples, looking unhappy.

"Sorry, just saying there's one" Siv shrugs "Look, I get it, but what if I'm right? What if that Rostislav guy pushed this hoping the slauh would panic ANY sluagh, and then, when robbed, or out bid, suddenly Nadeen has a bullshit excuse to latch onto and embrace House Biases. "

Earl frowns at Siv "That's a lot of guess work"

"Tis" Siv admits "But if you want a Varich plot.. I'd eye Rostislav over Nadeen as the source of it"

"You are not of a kith which is hunted and hated, Siv."

"And they will hate me if I give her the sword, and they will hate me if I take it - but if I take it, they shall have one less weapon against me and mine."

Siv ponders then gets a last idea "Txt Symon?" She whispers "he might agree with you, but he's not a friend to her like I am, but knows her better than you"

She checks her phone again and frowns.

Dolph points to Countess Adelaide, "And we have THREE hundred dollars from the lovely Charming Lady.... going once..."

The paddle raises casually. "Four."

"That's four hundred for our lovely Authoress, do we hear five hundred, four fifty... four fifty.... Four hundred going once..."

Adelaide seems to enjoy this "Well, so far this people are the only SURE winners, Miss Amur." She raises another fiftty playfully...

"Four-FIFTY to Charm!"

"Mm. Six." A large jump there.

the Counnttess looks impressed, and glances to Coradel to see if she'll try to top that

"Seven," Coradel says with a lift to her chin. She has a somewhat haughty look...but gives Zara the quickest of winks after bidding again.

"Seven fifty" Adelaide says merrily

"SEVEN! Seven to the Lady of Fiona, my stars, that would be Seven-and a half to the Charming Countess!"

Zara tosses her head and lifts her chin. "One thousand."

"ONE LARGE to the lovely Lady Amur!"

"Go Talia" Siv says stunned "Sorry, Baroness"

A bemused look at the little countess, and then some surprise at the red-clad sluagh. She waits to see if there's a counter bid.

Earl looks a bit pale. Sometimes he forgets his lady is.ah loaded

Briar chortles through a bite of sandwich. "They do know it only makes TEA right, not FOOD?"

Adelaide shakes her head "Fun is fun, but no bid"

"She's got elf itus" Cutbert explains "Makes you think rent is free"

Coradel gives an amused shrug, then shakes her head at the auctioneer.

He looks around.

Aiden nods to Dolph, concealing a small smile.

"And SOLD! To the lovely Talia Amur!" He starts to bang the auctioneer's block, and then realizes, and taps it quietly instead.

Zara nods gracefully.

The box is carefully carried over to Talia to inspect, after which it is packed up for her to take with her.

Polite applause. And a look to Earl to see just how pale he might have gotten.

"Well played, Miss Amur. That was a whisper I heard"

"Perhaps, sometime, you may join me for tea."

He seems to have found a drink, something HARDER than tea

"I would be flattered" The young Eilunneed smiles

Dolph mops his brow, "We will take a brief intermission before the auction resumes..."

Coradel idly drifts over to Earl's vicinity. "You know..." she murmurs quietly to him, "I had thought I might give that to her as a gift. I did not expect her to bid so eagerly. If she has just put herself in dire straights, financially, please let me know. I might find a way to compensate."

"She's probably fine" Earl says "That's..what's scary about it"

A soft breath of laughter and a nod, then Coradel moves back to August, pausing by Ms. Amur to say a quiet congratulations.

"You did have to task me so, eh, Baroness?" Good humored about it.

Julius finds Earl and offers him some Mulberry Brandy! "My own recipe... you see, ripe mulberries are hard to come by in such quantities.."

"Oh, I might have saved you indeed, but you would have none of that, apparently."
