And then, Siv approaches far less formally and grins at Zara as things get quiet "Didn't expect you here, hope it's not too loud for ye?" She has not said a name..yet

"Ah, Lady Captain. Tis true, I do not often travel - but how could I resist? 'Talia,' I said to myself - 'Talia, thou must truly see what there may be to offer."

"And truly, that tea chest is divine."

Siv is a spy, and a good one, there is no shift in her facial expressions, save perhaps the slightest twinkle in her left eye, "It is glorious, yes. I don't have your eye for such finery in tea sets, Miss Talia so would be wasted on me, but I imagine it would be the perfect sort of set to have by your side while you put quill to vellum, as itwere. You look grand, if I may be so bold to compliment, but then you're always in scarlet and I should be used to it" A bold lie, as that is not Zara's usual color, but why not add to the deception?

"The color of romance, dear captain." A wicked smile.

"Did you put up one of yer books for auction?" Her eyes can the tables

"I donated a signed edition to the mortal one, actually."

"I like them all, but tell me.. it was just mentioned in the third book, but is there going to be any fall out for our heroine's half sister falling for a lowly entertainer? "

“Dame Gladiola.” Linnea calls quietly. “Please assume guard over the treasures for a moment?” She nods towards the door- perhaps the thane heard a call of nature…

The Dame does so

Linnea hurries out!

Zara.. ahem, Talia looks catlike. "Dear Captain, art thou asking me for spoilers!?" She clutches at her necklace.

Returning, a few minutes later, she does not immediately resume her post.. but approaches the Captain and her lady friend.

Pausing a bit awkwardly a few steps away.

She clears her throat, a soft rumble. aherm aherm. Siv reads the troll for, please acknowledge me, I am worried to interrupt...

"Well, we Fiona are bold and one can't blame me for ... " She turns at the throat clearing and smiles "Thane Linnea, " they've met once or twice tops "Have you met Talia? Oh let me, Thane, this is Talia Amur, an authoress... and Talia, this is Thane Linnea, a warrioress who has impressed no less than three holds, this one, Dark gate, and Rivervale"

'Talia' places a hand on her chest. "Thane."

Linnea does not LOOK a stern warrior right now, her cheeks go a color that would be pink on a paler complexion, and quite purple here. "I beg your pardon. It is not seemly to bother the guests, however, did I, perhaps, happen. That is. I may have overheard. Ahem. Talia AMUR? The Author." Making sure she heard right.

She bows to Captain Siv, and again, just as low, or a fraction lower, to the Author.

as she bows, Talia may glimpse that she holds a hardcover volume in a hand behind her back.

Siv is a troll herself, so while she is inwardly amused, she betrays nothing that might embarrass the thane further. Why, her beard doesn't even wiggle

Now, it seems, it is Zara's turn to blush.

"Oh... ah, yes. Yes, I am."

"Terribly sorry to bother, but I thought, if you had just a moment..." She offers out the book, it's a first edition copy of To Tame a Flame: A Lady's Dilemma

While the lady certainly could say NO, the look on the Thane's face right now would be akin to kicking a puppy pooka on Christmas - after they didn't get any presents.

Zara is quite pink against her red dress. "I... well, I am honored."

But she does sign it!

Linnea is quite purple as well, and she bows again. "Much obliged." As she beats a hasty retreat back to her post, hoping that no one noticed.

Siv acts like it never happened, for the sake of two ladies, "So the tea set mmm? I've been hinted at that I should buy that ebony sword"

"That... that is quite a unique artifact." Politely.

Lizbet inches closer, sticking to the shadows.

THere are not MANY shadows, but she does an admirable job.

Siv came in a bit late "Unique? It's a singing sword right?"

She checks the list again "oh.. oh... " Snerk "Well, I'll bid low and if I get beat out, even better"

Lizbet is looking for spiders on the author lady...

1122 waves! He is metallic, made of clockwork - a touch different from the ladies.

When Linnae returns to her post , Gwen looks at her and asks quietly "if I make one disrespectful peep about whatever that was about, you're gonna give me murder eyes, aren't you?" Straight faced

Straight faced, not making eye contact, scanning the crowd attentively. "They would never find the body." She says... but there is a hint of a twitch in the corner of her mouth.

Linnea, to Gwen - "See anything on the table worth bidding on?"

One of the fledges is fussing over Linnea's desired gloves!

a slight lip curl then, more seriously, "Lots, but I'm worried it'll be out of my league. Really tempted by that lighter, be nice to track down those I am worried for if and when I needed to. Would love to give mom's donation back to her as an i love you thing...and, of course, the Dreamcatcher is.. hitting close to home. .. the salamander gloves could be awesome for others of this hold"

Siv with 'Talia' also says "Love your artist's work, let me guess, you come as female version of professor Plum? With a candlestick?"

"Depends on the day!" Pleased.

Linnea eyes Thistle, and remarks back to Gwen, "It looks like the gloves would stretch to fit any size hands. I would gift them to the Chieftain, if I win them."

"ooo clever" siv admits and ponders buying it for Symon or Gerd. Darn, not enough money even with the boost but mmm

"Ah," Gwen nods understanding, "It's always wise to protect one's investment"
