Marigold retrieves the processed sauce and starts cooking!

The older (BUT NOT OLD) Nocker hitches up her overalls and heads for the door.

“Willy, come back at 7 for pizza, please.”

“Or I can have some brought to your shop, but I know how you feel about being interrupted.”

"...thanks? For..." A shrug. "It works." To Willy.

"Already lost a lotta time, thanks anyway...." and she heads out the door back to her workshop.

Marigold smiles to Thistle. “Do you think you can use that motor on more than a mill?”

“I used to make ice cream in a handchurned bowl, but not for a few years.”

"Yeah, see, lots of things spin. So... meat grinder, maybe? Probably any of the plastic crap they sell..."

“Meat grinder! Oh, we could have elk sausages…”

“Some carcasses, hunting season You know, we have processed into ground, but I'd love to do small batch here…”

"Maybe you could make pasta, too. Ain't those spinny?"

“Oh, heavens, not ME. The Baron, though, every fall, at least when he has horses and dogs to test and train, and show off for potential buyers…”

"I don't know much about cooking, but I'll look at it..."

She nods. "Yeah. I'll bring Arty. He needs real pasta, not Tuna Furkin' Helper."

“Oh, I know just the thing.” She gives Katrina a smile. “ it’s a deal.”

"His family sucks."

“Oh?” She pauses in the stirring. “Tell me about it, mm?”

"Well, Arty wasn't exactly brave. But he didn't deserve that shit either. He's... like, in the mix of everything? They ignore him. His brothers think it's funny t'shit on him."

She tuts a bit. “Will it help if he sticks up for himself?”

"It might. I told him to. But.." She shrugs. "That won't work all the time."

“I can’t speak to your Arty, but our Art will not be likely to stand for much. It’s not in most Sidhe nature to relent like that, let themself be trod upon.”

"I hope Arty is, like, on the Starship Enterprise, seeing stars. Happy."

"Art is smarter than all the rest of his brothers put together, though."

Pause. "Is it normal for sidhe to, like, zone out?"

She pauses, and joins Katrina. “How so? Sometimes the Baron would, but…” a shake of her head. “He’d get lost in his memories though, that’s not really normal.”

"Well, it was a memory.. ish? Trying to remember something, but then it was fuzzy?"

“Sidhe come from, or rather return from Arcadia, and the mists hide most of their memories. You’ll find that you start to remember things from your past lives, but it's far more jarring for new arrivals, as I understand it, because they know, and then it's as good as stripped away. I’m glad he has a friend in you to help him through it.”
