"Oh, uhm.. they beat on me for waves and waves of challengers..."

"And I have to ..either beat them all or atl east impress them"

“Whether you can or not isn’t the issue… not the question. I don’t have to like it though.” She fusses a bit.

"I know, and I thought about not telling you, but.. that's not the way it should be between us." A sigh "Sorry it's gonna make you worry" A side hug

Outside, the whirrrrrrr-clank-whirrr of Gertrude.

Gwen looks up at the sound, "Hello?"

Probably also some dogs barking - but, again. Outside.

They're at the garden outside

"Oh, uh. Hey." A wave. Blue hair today, and the usual contingent of Nevers.

"How goes, THistle? Everything okay?"

"I thought I was allowed to visit just because?"

"Oh.." She says "Yes, of course I iddn't mean otherwise" Gwen sighs. "Sorry, troll instincts we sometimes go into protection mode when everything is just darn fine. I guess a better way would be to ask 'how are things?'"

"I could go. It's just... this place is cool. And warm. Cool in the figurative sense. Aw, &^$^%... you know what the ^%& I mean."

"I do.. and no one wants you to go away, quite the opposite. Right of Haven, remember?"

Her tone is friendly

"Right."

"Right" A nod Whew. I'm not sure what I'm saying wrong but hope it's not happening anymore for a bit

"I... didn't really want or need anything. I don't know why I came." A shrug.

Gwen rubs at her horns , but moves from her mom and walks to the shorter girl, "You don't need a reason to come here, it's a freehold, and you're a fledge with a right to an education here, and yes, relaxtion here.. I.." she blinks distracted"Okay, that Never over your left ear is like three shades of blue.. kind of cool"

"Katrina, dear, come on in. Tell me, do you like fresh tomatoes? I have an entire basket ful, if you want to take some home. Better than anything the grocery store has this time of year."

"Tomatoes are good! Hi Marigold."

Gwen shoots Marigold a grateful look .

"Come on in, I could use a hand with the beans."

"Your Binky has been a dear with picking the ones lower to the ground so I don't have to stoop."

Said gnome has a stack of long green bean over a shoulder as if carting firewood.

"Shame the rest of them aren't around. They'd be a force to be reckoned with."

Muppet trots up and puts a cold nose against a nocker leg

"Gack!"

Binky nods. "Pogwoggle and Fetzle, Minnow and Beeg. So many friends. Binky remembers them."

A handful of nevers buzz around, sniffing the early fall flowers - there are cucumber and zucchini blossoms, and mums - so many mums!

Wag of terrier tail

A never flutters down and tugs at the tail curiously.

And.. the chase is on! Terrier on the hunt.. oh sure, that hunt seems to be circles around Thistle

"Gah!"

"There were at least twenty. Yeah." She attempts to step out of the circle of chase.

"So - beans?"

The never zips - INTO Katrina's sleeve!

Safe here from Muppet, right? RIGHT!

Oh, she's wearing something else under here. A clasp to play with! Fiddle fiddle, ever curious.

"Agh! You little nitwit!" She bats at the Never through her shirt. "Out!"

Gwen smiles

the little pink sprite comes out the opposite sleeve, complaining in a high-pitched twitter!

The Terrier leaps up trying to catch the Never that is plaguing the person girl she likes!

"They can be so... so.... &^%(!!" Thistle spits out an expletive that carries connotations of hyperactive kindergarteners, yippy terriers, and a pebble in ones shoe.

Three Nevers zoom away - One zipping into an apple sapling, another off over the roof of the patio, and the last disappears into the raspberry bush.

Huff. "Sorry."

"Just tell Muppet to heel. See if he listens, if you want to try?" Gwen says
