He looks puzzled. "No, not... the library? You know... the main library?"

"Mmph."

"Ah, we don't have one really..." Gladiola explains

"Art, maybe there are chimerical books in the regular library? Or books that look like regular ones to mundanes, but different to us?"

"I know Arty had read most of them, but Arty couldn't see faerie-stuff either."

One never has snuck under Katrina's hair, and tickles her neck as it plays with the bright blue strands.

"But - you MUST have a library. How else would you know the history of your Holding, the stories of your lands, the tales of the warriors and sages and lords that have gone before? How will I study arts and learn the history of Concordia? How will I remember?!" Getting a bit upset.

"However, next monday.. maybe I can take you guys to Earth Runes? It'll be cautious, trods aren't safe for unsained, but there's a fantasttic library there and the Baroness is allowing us to read there"

"Ack! That &#@& tickles!"

He looks a bit taken aback. "And admit that your hold cannot support a proper learning environment for fledges? Should we go to this Earth Runes instead?"

She waves her hand, trying to shoo away the sprite.

Gwen stiffens

Arthur looks much cheered! "A perfect solution."

"I was fledged here, and I came out fine, Arthur"

"Well, you remember the fairy stuff but not refrigerators. You can learn about that at the regular library."

Arthur gives Gwen a dubious look. "But you are a Warrior Knight, not a scholar..."

"I know what a refrigerator is." He protests to Katrina. "I just wanted to see what magic made it cold. Where do they store the cantrip for Winter?"

"Oh, no, you see there's this condenser..." She starts into an explanation!

"I can name breeds from A to Z. I speak 3 three languages and have researched history, mythology, and indigenous culture extensively. Warrior Knight or not, I do study" Fledges. HUmph

"Indigenous mortal culture. Isn't it just more of the same? Squabbling, warring, fighting, making peace, warring again, over the ages?"

Arthur is enthralled by Katrina's explanation, more than Gwen's. "So it's the energy that moves through the wires..." Picking up quickly where Arty's memories fill in the gaps.

"Yeah! Electricity gives power, and you can harness it to do all kinds of stuff..."

"Fascinating!"

Marigold rests a hand on Gwen's arm and murmurs, "He didn't mean it, my dear. He just has yet to learn that there is more to this Earth than was dreamt of in Arcadian philosophy."

"Pardon me. Be right back" Gwen strides off

A pat on the arm as she goes, Marigold understands that the abruptness wasn't pointed at her.

"You can make just about anything with cleverness and bashing it with a hammer."

"Knight, show us.... She left?" Arthur looks surprised. "Oh. Well, shall we continue exploring? We haven't even started looking at the other wings."

"Patience maybe required," A new voice, the Baroness glides in, "I understand you have a formal request, Arthur?"

"Maybe a snack first?"

He straightens and bows to the Baroness. A glance at Trina and he subtly points towards her, indicating... what? "Lady Baroness."

But alas, Trina is deep in a bowl of pasta right now and doesn't notice.

Marigold got to her!

Alas. But the Baroness tilts her head, "I understand you had a complaint about Silverwolf's facilities?"

He looks a bit taken aback, but he doesn't deny it. A nod. "Yes. There is no library. Dame Gwen said that we would need to travel to the Barony of EarthRunes to study. If that is the case, then wouldn't it be more sensible to be transferred to that holding for my fledge period?" Politely stated, and with deference to the Baroness's rank.

A sigh, "You were told about the Escheat, I know this. I hoped you would remember. Memorization is a valuable skill for any scholar, as is logic."

A puzzled look.

"The Right of Ignorance, do you not realize it is tested if you vanish mysteriously and should be spotted somehow in another state? " Nadeen arches a brow "Do you not realize the stir it would cause? "

He frowns. "They would not miss me. They did not miss me the night that I arrived and took my host. Your people didn't even need to work any spells... I wasn't noticed gone."

A thought, and he reasons, "They have so many children. It might be a blessing if they have one less to look after. You can make them forget about me - him." Thinking as well, of a morning without fighting for a seat at breakfast, without someone holding his lunchbag out of reach.

Although he does look a little uncomfortable, glancing over towards where Katrina is secretly offering a noodle to one of the Nevers.

Marigold pretends not to notice.

Nadeen tilts her head, "So the problem is not Silverwolf, it's your mortal family. you're looking, hoping for an excuse to escape them. I see. Arthur, you're a fledge. You are allowed, even expected, to make mistakes or even be a bit rude, but do you not see how casting us aside so cavalier smacks of... insult and ingratitude?"

His cheeks do turn a bit red, he has the decency to look embarrassed.

A breath. "I apologize, Baroness. You have been nothing but gracious and I have been rude." He pauses, but then dares to add, "You should have a library, though. Your history and stories, studies and tales and triumphs. That's not something someone else's records can share."

Marigold is praised in a nockerish manner - sideways compliments about how her food is NOT bad, terrible, tasteless, rubbery, or any other flaw.

"Then, next time , if you feel a lack, perhaps a request for resources to be provided? You'll find the Baron and I will often provide when approached on improvement that is to the hold's advantage as well as a fledge's we give it more than minor consideration?"

A look to the Nocker and a nod "The baron has already ttalked to Thisle about her vision. "

His eyes widen! "Katrina had a vision?"

"Oh.. that.."

"Was it a prophesy? Are you a seer?"
