Eventually, Sylvi and Colton make it back to the stables, and in the party's afterhours they meander the halls of the hold to locate the room where they're hosted for the night.

The rooms are nice! Not SUMPTUOUS but well laid out and comfortable.

And the luxurious comfort is very much appreciated.

Sylvi does send a text to check in with her folks to them them know she's still alive and well, hope they're the same.

Without a Master to report to, or lover to go to, Adam cleans up. He dresses in the robe he finds, and wanders around his room to explore briefly.

And he might find a Text on his phone if Adam ever looks

It's actually from much earlier TXT: Squire. I am in private conference. I am sure a room for you to sleep in will be provided here. We will leave early morning

TXT: Yes, Sir. (He describes his room location) Is there anything you need me to do?

The robe is very nice. Plush and comfortable, a kingly robe. Perhaps not Fiona silk, but nice.

Adam considers he might not get an answer, and .... well, that might make sense.

And it is a nice robe.

A DND signal comes back

He sighs and tosses the phone on a nightstand.

Wudlig and Gerd end up having a drink by the balefire. Where they have been is unsure, but she's young. So is he .. and they have blushes shared

The balefire is farther within the manor, but perhaps Wudlig took it as a challenge to determine the correct combination of doorways to pass through and turns down identical seeming hallways to find the way. Or perhaps the bale recognizes a festive aura, and a member of house Combecatte. Either way, they can admire it’s flicker, different from the rustic blaze of Rivervale, cool silver flames, but still warming and romantic in it’s way.

"Are we going to get in trouble for be3ing this close to the flame?" Gerd asks

"No. .no, the Ailil are allies to my banner house" he says "We're tight..ish"

Gerd frowns, not sure what to make of that. but lets it slide

Then she looks over at the snoozy Connor "I can't believe Marigold stuffed him to slumber"

Dagmar goes hunting for the pup.

And she encounters - the Baron, walking down the hallway from the guestrooms. “Dame Dagmar.” He greets her. “Are you looking for the guest chambers?”

"I am seeking my squire. It is late, I should get him home."

“Your Squire?” A blank look for a moment. Then he nods absently. “Indeed, yes. It is late. I don’t suppose you had time to discuss the matter of a quest?”

He gestures for her to walk with him down another hallway.

"The golden horses? Yes, I will be guarding Nadeen when she goes."

"You... are a very good steward to your beasts." She admits the compliment.

And looks relieved when she speaks up. “I am glad to hear of it. You have a strong reputation of caring for animals, as well as those under your protection. It speaks well of your character.”

A nod to the compliment, accepting it. “Star has blossomed under your care.” He repays in kind, as they turn down another hallway that looks just like the first.

Connor’s ears twitch, and he blinks sleepily, hearing the approach.

"Star's a dream of a horse."

“To one who dreams of horses, they all must be.”

Gerd strokes Connor's hair "Sorry, Wudlig. I know you wanted me all to yourself but... I was gone long enough "

A smile. "They kind of are. You know, there's an island of horses in the Dreaming."

Wudlig says "We had sometime together thanks to others watching him now and then. And.. well, an hour with you is gold."

Gerd looks over the nocker, wondering if he's really this perfect? Then smiles "Thanks"

The balefire grows and flickers in intensity as the freeholder and lord of the manor approaches.

He looks intrigued, “An Island of Horses.... protected by Kelpies, perhaps?” He muses.

Wudlig eyes this "Better get ready to bow"

Gerd looks at the fire "Oh" A blush

"Well, I don't recall Kelpies, but I wouldn't rule that out."

“Still, in the dreaming they may be safer than most.” He muses. Turning a corner, and setting a hand lightly on a doorway that looks like the other doorways. “You’ll find your squire within, and I believe your escort as well. “I hope that you enjoyed your visit.”

His eyes, for a moment, flickering silver as he communes with the heart of the hold.

"I... I did, yes. I hope to get the chance to see more of Gwen and Dame Delorean. We hope to continue to test each other at the joust, by the leave of our respective holds."

Aiden smiles, proudly. “Gwen is already a credit, and DeLorean an invaluable help with the horses. Shall I entrust you with keeping her skills sharp so that she can unhorse you next Pennons?”

That actually gets a laugh.

"I guess honor demands it."

He gives her a small bow. “Until next time, then, Dame. Thank you for joining us.”

"Thank you for hosting, Baron." A formal little bow back.

He takes his leave, at the doorway to the Balefire room.
