The boggan has caught the Gwydion in the crux of a technicality, seeing it for what it was.

"Is there something else already ready?"

"Hot buttered rolls is ready. You like them? It'll mean we can cook what you want while you enjoy them. So what was it you WANt to eat after the rolls?' she looks ready to climb Dagmar to meet her eyes even closer.

the other thane has backed up five feet

"Oh, rolls sound nice."

"ANNNND?" Foot tap

"I..." She hesitates. "Shark steak?" Maybe it will taste like a regular steak...

The woman strikes her can to the ground "By the powers of hellfire in the oven's gut, by the dark shadows between where yeast does rut, by the weeping of angels whose tears flavor the stew, I seek, I would know, Hey I KnEW!"

Glamour washes over Dagmar and then seems to flow to the old boggan "AH HA.. I have read the signs. You have a seat dear. I'll get you what you wanted"

Dagmar's shoulders have curled inwards, in an effort to appear smaller.

And off she goes

The thane winces and mutters "See what i mean? Granny Otherby is scary"

"I didn't mean to cause trouble."

"I think she looks for a reason to be cranky" the thane whispers confidentially "But it'll be good food, I promise"

"I'm sure. I just... I could've just had a regular thing."

"Around here some of those are the regular things" The thane admits "But we do have a great BBQ on the 4th"

Smell of hot buttered rolls being set at her table

A murmur of thanks and she snags a roll.

It's delicious

She eats and then... before she can scarf down a third roll, a platter of chicken fingers is presented. Well, thehy look like chicken fingers

"Ooo..."

Dipping sauces of various types are also provided, typical ketchup, mustards, and spicy varations. yes, BBQ too

She is willing to be adventurous in moderation it seems, trying each of the provided sauces.

Oh her choice, the meat itself is delicious

And soon, she finds just what shark fingers taste best in

It's different, she realizes after half are gone, but not bad, because it's in a familiar form

"This isn't chicken, I don't think." She tells her companion. "Want to try one?"

"oh I'v e had shark before, but thank you" the thane says

The thane is currently having a tuna melt

Which does NOT Smell like catfood

There is a brief flash of the New-Food-Face at that news, but then it goes away. "Well, these are good." It's settled. Shark is now Acceptable.

The companion smiles at that and nods. Still a troll after all. Too much talking isn't needed for company to be enjoyble

She does hear talk about her, and notices the Gwydions , few in number here, are looking proud that one of their own helped finish the dragon off

"I know the county is ruled by a Fiona, but there's a decent number of Falcons here."

"A concession to the fact that an Ailil , even an affilate, rules here " The thane admits "They're not the largest house here, but the're well represented. Despite that, they feel a bit out numbered , because if you lump unseelie houses together, they are. And some assume they want to take over the place" A pause "No offense to you, just Gwydions tend to be used to ruling"

"Well, troll, so..." She shrugs. "But Chief is a Baroness and a Gwydion, and so is our Count, so I guess I'm used to Gwydions in charge. I haven't been in a lot of courts. We have an Ailil barony nearby, though. And we're friendly enough."

"See around here, it's a competition. The Ailil try to out perform the Gwydions, and some do kind ofcheat, but the Gwydions act try to best the Ailil, and claim they don't win on 'easy mode'. I'm sure how it happeened, but it's better than them being at their throats. Possibly helps that the Baroness puts the focus on the ocean and dreamers.. gives her some commoner support"

"Falcons and Dragons are both very proud."

"Makes me glad I am just a thane. Politcal competition makes my head spin"

"Honestly? Most of the time I don't feel like a 'Gwydion Knight' - it's not like we do formal court, and I'm not an emissary or diplomat or anything. I don't feel so different from the thanes, I just, y'know, sained with a house and title. Like, I didn't earn it, per se. A past life did?"

"well, if I may? If you didn't earn it before, you did yesterday" The thane holds up a glass of prune juice to toast

She ducks her head but smiles. "Well, I try to live up to it. Yeah." A Dr. Pepper toast-clink.

With embarrasment he says "Stanly"

"Oh!"

"Oh, how rude of me. I forgot to ask."

"It's okay" he says "No one really is proud of the name Stanly" a bit sheepish
