"We'd not say no to Haven, but if you're full up with local folk or those needing healing, we can fend for ourselves, too. We don't want to put anyone out in a tough time."

"I guess it is an odd time for visitors. I wish I could remember the bear." She touches her gauntlet, letting the treasure pack away her armor.

Grunt, and a nod at Piper's comment about being able to stay elsewhere.

"Haven is haven, for stranger or kin" Virgina waves off their worries "Tell you what, stow any stuff you want to stow there" She gestures "And wi'll get you some food. What would you like?"

"Food sounds awesome."

"Well we got country fried steak and mashed potatoes with some fantastic gravy, side order of your choice of asparagus, peas, or green beans. If one of you prefers a vegatarian platter, we've been experimenting with Beyond Beef patties, kind of like impossible burgers, but bigger? Or just a big old veggi melody. We also have some trout we can serve instead of the Country fried steak... and , of course, we have plenty of other dishes"

Piper stows her giant (to her) backpack and guitar. "Still, I know it's a rough time right now. If we can help out, let us know?" Looking to Dagmar to make sure she hasn't overstepped in offering for both of them.

"I can wash dishes like a pro! And, um - yes to country fried steak and all that stuff? Piper's vegetarian, but I'm not."

"Dagmar is a warrior, a dang good one, and can cook to boot. I can play a tune to lift spirits, though not much good around a sword or a pan. Except to wash them!" She grins at Dagmar.

"Piper's an amazing musician. She's won contests!"

"One of my best friends is Vegan, around here we look at that as a challenge not something to mock" She pauses "Well, here in Pine lodge. I wouldn't meantion it to any redcaps"

"I'd love to try one of those burgers. I've been veggie for about 5 years, but sometimes I just miss a burger, right?"

Piper grins, and banters back up to Dagmar. "But DAGMAR has won jousts, like again grown grump knights, at Pennons."

A touch of purple on her cheeks.

"One Country Fried steak with mashed potatoes... and one NOT Beef Beef Patty dish" Virgina smiles "Sweet tea?"

"And sounds really impressive. Our next big jousts will probably be Pennons"

"Oh, yes, please. One of my mamas is from Louisiana, she loves sweet tea, and I inherited her sweet tooth."

"Ice tea sounds good. I wouldn't object to a Dr. Pepper, if you had any, either..."

"We've got Mr. Pibb, nto so different" She assures "Care to give it a try?"

A murmur to Dagmar, "I bet sluagh hate sweet tea?"

"Oh, I appreciate Mr. Pibb!"

"..I have no idea. I mean, it's tea ain't it?"

"Well, it's nothing like tea party tea, like all prim and proper with little ceramic cups. For one thing, it's iced, and sweet enough to make a redcap blush."

"Maybe if you put it in a fancy cup? Symon drinks a lot of Mountain Dew, so..."

"That stuff is pure chemical goodness. It'll make his eyes glow one of these days."

A laugh from Virginia "I'll get right on all of it. "And she darts back to tend to it.

As Piper and Dagmar go quiet to look about the place and enjoy a moment to rest.. and wish they could remember the BEAR... the find boggans work very fast indeed as out comes Virginia with food and more

Sniffing the comforting food smells! (Her stomach growls.)

"Here we go" She sets them down in the proper order "Now you two dig in, but I would to hear more about where you come from. Your accents dont' exactly match"

"I'm from California, just outside San Fran, but by way of New Jersey - Bergen County is my home now."

"Piper's a flower child. But we like her anyways. I'm from Bergen, born there."

"ha, well to you two i Probably sound like I have an accent" She makes sure they have napkins "What you brings you to Rowan Oak if you don't mind me asking?"

"We're both at - well, no. I'm at Rivervale, Piper helps run Goldfinch. It's only been a freehold a little while. She helped make it happen."

A look at the satyress - this is Piper's quest!

Dagmar tucks into the food. She's a big girl with the appetite to match.

Piper took a bite of the burger, and is looking at it a bit suspiciously. Swallow - "You SURE you didn't slip some cow in here? I swear, it tastes like the real thing."

Another bite! "Not complaining - it's just been a hot second since I got anything even close!"

"I heard of Rivervale" Virgina says"Some troll lady there used to know the Count"

"Well we could make it taste like the real thing with a fuddle, but cooks think that's cheating" Virgina tells her

"The hearth at Rivervale, that's Dame Kerri, she does amazing things with tofu and veggies, and Dagmar's mom has the best spicy cauliflower 'wings' I've ever tasted, but this is something else." Appreciative.

"MM-hmm!" Agreement, but mouth full!

Piper gets a few bites down before speaking. "Sorry, traveling always makes me starving. Normally I travel by ship, but this was a special occasion. We had our Rover already headed this way, so he let us tag along. You see, I'm looking for someone. Maybe you know him? I mean, I don't have a lot to go off of, just a name and a kith, but I figure, if you folk don't know him, that means he must not be here."

Dagmar listens, trying to take Piper's lead in this. Her first instinct would be just to blab the whole story, but she can just see Symon's disappointed face if she did so...

"If I Don't know him, I bet I know someone who does if he's around or from here" SHe says hand on hip

"Lucky we found here, then!"

A grin at Victoria. "Well then, are you acquainted with a fellow by the name of Micky Boid?"

Trying for casual.

"Oh the Boyd family sure, though it's not Mickey who caused the most trouble or so I hear, was before my time. Sure I know Mickey. He's on tour"

"On tour?"

"Wow, the boyds... I have heard some tales oh.. yes, well, he's a performer, voice like his... he owns a small house here, but right now you'll find him at the Beach"

The beach? may mean nothing to them
