Perhaps it's best the alarm didn't go on. The sound might have hurt her more than distracted them! The goons are reaching for weapons, but her sister has bought her time.

Zara can't call for Earl.

And that is a problem. He can't hear her...the bird on her shoulder is frantic

But she can burn glamour - "Today isn't your lucky day. Why, tis Thursday the fourteenth! Fie!" Not her BEST bunk, calling Foul Fortune on the pair.

The hex takes, despite the nearness of the cold iron, the one still standing yanks his weapon out of a holster, but the ill luck hits him... and a secret is revealed. For a matchbook falls, on it's cover, the name of a local gay bar, no shame should be in that. Zara knows it's a gaybar because it has a PrideMonth rainbow on it... and because of the look of shock on the other fellow's face. His bigotry leaks from him like water from a damaged bucket.

"You're a F##?" the second man gasps. Drawing the first guy's attention to the fallen matchbook that betrays the life he has tried to keep hidden from his homophobic friend.

It would seem the magic has , in a sense, releaxed a secret to Zara much like her birthday wish would seek... though really, this is not a secret SHE would have cared about. However, it buys time.

And time is used. Her sister knocks the gun from the second man with her bound two hands..

Time to snag the fallen gun. And time to free Tzip?

Yes, for the first guy is sputtering "Look man, this doens't CHANGE anything... we're friends... right? Still?"

And he is not even looking at Zara

The focus on his friend ,and their 'kidnap victim' who just disarmed his co worker

She shoves the gun in her waistband and pulls on Tziporrah.

She grabs Tziporah and pulls her sister hopping along. The two men realize something "She's getting away" "SHIT, our money!" "MOney, you idiot, they get away, we got to jail!"

A bullet fires, but it hits the wall as Zara guides her sister out and around the corner into a hall of more flickering lights. This time she's ready, but her sister seems disoriented after her adrenile rush

Zara focuses on untying Tzip's bonds.

Earl might have heard the gunfire...

Zara frees her sister's bonds, her slender fingers finessing the cloth loose. She does it quickly. One does not spend a life time about knitters, tailors, and , most of all spiders, without learning a bit about unknoting ill directed threads!

Zara presses cold lips to the top of Tzipporah's hair, passing another point of glamour.

"Oh Sis I.." And Tzzy breaks into tears "I was fading, fading, and those two lumoxes didn't know, they didn't know whow much it hurt... to lose who I am and I..."

"That is fucking enough" Says the one goon who still has a gun as he comes into view "Maybe we won't get our million, but if you think we're going to put up with..."

Zara feels glamour.. from the side of the gun man, through the wall, a door appears that was not there before, slams open, and Earl has leaped onto pf the gun man, Quick silver making him a blue blur. He slams the gunman against the wall

Zara narrows her eyes, glaring.

And then - surprise, and relief. "Earl!"

The other kidnapper joins in to try to peel Earl off his fellow. Earl is strong, and .. Zara has rarely seen him so ANGRY. But it is two on one.

Zara is spending glamour like water - calling the Wyrd! Earl and Tzipporah are pulled into it.

Suddenly, the kidnappers face a nightmare, a rogue, and a furious giant.

"You sought to kill my heart!" Earl , black eyed, lifts and CHOKES the man with the gun , slamming him again and again against the wall. THe gunman might have been able to apply his weapon against Earl, which is still in hi hand, but what was an furious young man has just gained at least a foot in height, and turned horned, blue, and inhuman! The other man backs away, only to lock eyes with Zara.

Looking eyes with a nightmare, however much glamour she's spent, is seldom a comforting thing

Zara hisses. "Thou hast harmed what is mine, mortal."

Earl did insist they bring extra dross, to prep. He also advised her to dress, but we shan't speak of that.

"What the hell are you ?" The second man who can speak gulps

"I am consequences. I am fate. I am as ancient as the rivers, as implacable as the night."

The gunman gasps as earl bashes him, still holding onto the neck, but loosening the gun

The second man says "The blue monster is KILLING him" Nevermind they were willing to kill Zara and Tizzy rather than risk witnesses living

"He shan't. He will make him wish himself dead."

"And thou? Thou might well prefer death to the fate you face."

"We got more guys up front" he says "At the counter..."

"You had more" Earl rumbles. but he also hears the whisper of his lady. Shant' she said. She values life. He will not let her down by destroying what she values. He lets the air back into the one he has who drops

"I just want this freakshow to end and us to get out of this alive" The guy sputters

Tiziphorah flashes her teeth as if she thought she had fangs "You bound me, kept me from the road. You miserable curs, you think you will merely escape?"

"You have meddled with what you do not understand - and for what? Filthy lucre?"

"But they're rich, everyone in scarsdale is rich. When we found this.. we.. we thought she was just a girl..."

"Which makes you more of a coward still" The Eshu says "Oh I shall make sonnets of your cowardice"

The man continues "We were like... how'd this young girl get to Lousiana? Found out she was from a rich part in New York...and we took our chances . Times are hard"

Choking sounds from the other

Earl eyes the man who said' times are hard' as if he'd like to slap him silly

"How did you even find she was not from here? Why were you interacting with mine teenaged sister?"

"We.. look for runaways..you know, impresionable girls. There's a place that takes girls in, you put the finger in on them, you get a finder's fee. It's.. it's ..some folks like em young, and the girls get a roof over the head. It's all fair" He explains.

"You make WHORES of girls my age? Or at least, send them to those who do?" Hiss goes the Eshu sounding a bit like her sister there, though louder. The Eshu gestures an evil eye. No magic behind it
