They've been to New Orleans, the graves here are to die for

Bad puns aside, it is blindingly bright as the sun is risinng over the shimmering stones

Zara squints at the sun, and squeezes Earl's hand tightly.

Earl takes her hand, "Okay. Plane, Rental car? Or bus?" He positions his body to blocck the sun off her

"Methinks car would be the fastest?"

The rental place ..gives them grief "We don't normally rent to people as young as you"

"I am twenty-one, that is what the law says. Does my money come in the wrong color, sir?"

The guy drawls, "Look, little lady, This is MURICA.. and I have the right to refuse service to anyone..."

Earl arches a brow at this

"For what cause, sir?"

"You don't look reliable" He says

"I have never even had a speeding ticket."

"I fail to understand what I have done to cause offense."

Earl's jaw sets, then he pulls out hsi camera on his phone "Hi. I'm Earl DeBuke, and this jerk is turning down my girlfriend and I for a car rental because she's jewish.. that's right, we've got an Anti Semite here at Interlude Rentals! WHich I bet their company is going to LOVE to hear about..." HE turns the phone on the man "And what was your name, sir?"

"The hell?" The man tries to cover the phone with a hand, Earl pulls it back "We don't have a damn thing against the Jews"

"You said that I looked unreliable, which is a fact belied by my pristine driving record. What about my "look" then is amiss?"

"Did I say looks?" The man sweats "I'm sure I didn't... ah... look let me get you one of our top of the line coups for two. " He starts to move to the machine "Just .. misunderstanding, no need to worry"

"I am sure we can clear up any misunderstanding, yes. Thank you."

Earl stops "Wait, what's that car in the back lot, Row four? "

"That? Oh that car's junk son, it's a hearse from Vegas"

The Purple Hearse is a rarity

Zara quirks a smile.

And that's how they got into a purple Hearse heading towards Baton Rouge

"Lot more head room than I expected " earl admits

Zara is still agitated, poking at her phone to make it spit directions.

In that case, Earl takes over the wheel

Zara lets him!

It must be said her normally polite and responsible true heart seems to have no problem with breaking the speed limit by a lot to get there in time

Good thing - Zara tends to drive like a granny (in her Volvo!)

SOmeone honks at them, Earl snorts "Knights on quests should get right of way, just saying"

The average time from N'orleans to Baton Rouge is an hour and 42 minutes... they arrive in 3/4th the time. And Zara knows just where the adress is

Zara navigates, calling out turns from her phone.

"Turning left" He says

"Why would they bring her here?

"And how?"

They drive by a tea shop.. Voo Doo Teas? It flickers with glamour

A quick kenn - freehold?

No it's... is that a dross spot? No freehold, but now and then, the sort of place that creates dross in one form or another.

But the smell is fantastic and.. gone... as they drive way

"Something wrong?" Earl says as he notices she was gawking

Zara can't indulge in such fripperies.

"I sensed glamour. Not a freehold. Turn right at the light."

And right he turns right , they are approaching their destination

"...I don't have a plan."

"Oh lord, we're acting like Fiona aren't we?"

South Fork Scrap Emporium says the sign as they approach
