Then she releases him and asks RJ, "Where's Kolette?"

RJ Points. There is another boggan, who appears to be the twin of the more stressed out Collette. Then again, Collete has to deal with Jeff.

"Over here, hey. Mind if I put you to work while I teach and talk" Kolette waves!

"Oh, wow....yes, please! I can...well...I'll try to do what you need me to do." A quick, happy wave back to Colton, and then she's diving into the work.

"Okay, well, first thing you need to know, make up for theatre lights has different needs than day to day make up, or camera make up..." Kolette says "I'm going to teach you the foundation I'm looking for, see if you got it down , and then hopefully in no time at all, there will be two of us working. Nice to meet you by the way... your boyfriend saved a friend of mine from ravaging. I'll tell you about it later, but for now..." She breaks out an array of make up tools both state of the art and comprehensive.

Colton smiles and watches them. Until RJ raises a brow "What, you think you're standing here without something in your hands?"

"I look forward to hearing it," Sylvi says of the Colton story, but then she's focused on the new array of tools, creams, powders, colors, frowning slightly with concentration as she listens to the instructions from the seasoned expert. She nods as soon as she thinks she's got something.

Colton sighs "What do you need lifted?"

"Good man" RJ grins and directs him to some work with props.

Kolette seems to have a gift for now giving Sylvi more than she can handle, which might oddly make Sylvi want to try just a bit more. Her sister may seem cranky, but the outfits are fantastic..each with a slight nuance of it's own yet keeping the overall theme.

Sylvi does experiment a bit with shading the foundation differently for different ages, but she tries to stay within reasonable bounds for what Kolette instructed her. She checks in frequently on the first couple of faces she works on, but then tries to work independently to Kolette can focus on the detail work.

Kolette notices, then smiles "Good, bit less purple there..."

"Oh, yeah, okay...."

"yeah, that's more like it... makes the kids faces shine angelically"

Amused 'Not that our heroine is an angel"

Dame Umbrous wrangles the kids some, but mostly make sure no on who isn't supposed to be there gets near. While not a troll she seems to have a knack , particualarly at the art of redirecting folks gently when they're polite, or even telling them to go the hell in such a nice fashion they end up looking forward to the trip until they find themselves outside the building going "heeeeeey"

"Angels, okay..." Sylvi goes forward with that notion in mind.

RJ is everywhere.... talking little, but when she does folks pay heed

Jeff looks left, looks right.. reaches for his lapel....

If Sylvi spots this, she makes a little noise at him and shakes her head.

Caught, he stops.

"Love the new forklift, RJ" A different pooka says.

"His name is Colton, Be nice, Cleary!" RJ says

"I knew backstage would be busy, but...wow..."

"To be fair, we are short staffed, so I'm actually very glad you've come in. You're a quick study and obviously have been researching on your own, " Kolette says.

"I have. I mean, I've been trying. I've started doing some YouTube videos on, like, regular make up, but I really like the theater, and I guess I mentioned to Colton that I was curious about this and...." she shakes her head "I can't believe he arranged this."

"Well, we did offer backstage access as a gift... frankly I would have taken the money" A wink "But sometimes guys do good things. Now, you let me know if Colton has an older brother and I'll be quite happy to continue teaching you what I know."

"I don't think I can provide the older brother, sorry." Sylvi smiles. "But...um...I'd love to keep learning. I don't really live close by, though. But maybe...if you have any contacts in New York...?"

"Oh honey, city or state?"

"Well, I mean New York City. I live just over the river in New Jersey, really. My folks took me to a real Broadway show last year."

"That's the way most of us get to Broadway" She winks "i'm afraid I'm not a big fish and don't know too many on Broadway itself save by a few 'fangirl meets' at conventions and the like... I've got connections sure, but for top tier? Not there yet." She admits "You have to take pride in where you are and what you're doing now even as you reach for the next rung or you'll end up being miserable doing something you'd otherwise love. Now RJ might have a contact or two... and I can certainly NAME some of the big wigs, but apprenticeships with those are pretty much unpaied internships for folks older than you with a college degree in theatre."

Sylvi smiles. "I totally get what you mean. And this right here? This is fun, and busy, and a little bit crazy. I'd love to learn more about the work at this level." She finishes off an adorable moppet's foundation and smiles at her as she passes her on to Kolette.

"I know my school has a drama club, but I never looked into it before. That would be a good place to start, I guess. Hey, Kolette...how did you start?"

"Well, scoff some folks might... let me tell you, the theatre troupe can be hard work... " She smiles at the question "Me? Ha. Believe it or not? I got my start doing volunteer work at a church's haunted House.. and trunk or treat. "

"Ha! Really? That's cool."

"Oh yes. I made princesses and vampires alike.. and more... the spooky part was okay, but it was the way you could bring the light down on a face or shunt it away- always fascinated me. Got roped into a birthday face painting thing too and next thing I knew the ONLY reason I was making a passing grade in chem was because it might be useful in make up," Wry "The options have really grown since I was your age. "

"Huh. I haven't taken chem, yet...it's on my schedule for this year." She watches as Kolette works on one of the young actors, seeing what she accentuates and what she de-emphasizes.

"oh, hold on... our 'villain' needs a touch up. THIS will be fun.."

Ands she shows her...

(Pause or end as suits)

A bit later, when there's a pause between makeup and curtain time, Sylvi remembers she needs to check in with her parents. "Kolette, can I send my folks a quick video of us?"

"Sure, why not..." She laughs "I'm the one person whose make up on this stage IS NOT looking great"

"You look great," Sylvi assures. She leans in and positions the camera for selfie-video. "Mom, Dad, you are never going to believe what Colton did. He is the most amazing boyfriend ever! This is Kolette..." she pauses to give the boggan a chance to wave hello "...and she's a make up artist for a theater company, and the surprise was that we're backstage before a production of Mathilda here in Jefferson City, and Kolette is letting me help with the make up on the actors! Isn't that amazing?! She's teaching me a lot, and I don't think I've messed things up too badly..."

"Hello" Kolette waves "Your daughter's a natural"

"OMG! This is so much fun! And Colton is...um...he's helping somewhere else in the theater, and that's what the surprise date is, and I absolutely had zero clue! Anyway, everything's good, I'm having a blast, and I just wanted you to know. Talk to you later! Bye!"

And she hangs up.

She finishes the video and sends it to her folks. (Better to do it that way than to have to deal with a conversation in Facetime or something.) A happy sigh. "Okay, cool. Is there anything else you need me to do?"

"Well, actually, now the show is starting and we're on damage control, at least I am. You can stay back here if you like or watch the show in some reserved seating. Make up is something that often needs reaplication as you know. Even more under hot lights and with action"

Sylvi nods quickly. "I...want to see the show, but I'd like to stay and help, too. Um...let me find Colton and see what he's doing."

"Happy Hunting" she says with a smile
