"Right so tell him five or ten, brace him for 15 or twenty.. got it" ANd her dad heads down the steps

Her mind is still fuzzy..did she shower last night? She had to remember to do THAT she was a in a fight

Did she get the sweat off?

Her hair is..argh

She almost protests, but then realizes he might be right, and the rush to look presentable is ON. Clothes...clothes...cute clothes...oh, geez, shower...then clothes....Hair? Mirror....ACK!!!

Then a part of her, remembers she's got this. She's gonna be a professional stylist and make up consultant and maybe more. This is a challenge, but it is in her wheel house.

Mind you, the fact it's her boyfriend does up the stress factor.

She refocuses, sets her sights on Impromptu Casual, and goes into damage control/quick prep mode. Besides...she might have to make him wait again if he tells her this is a dress-up date, so best to go with pared-down basics at first....

Soon, she's looking like a sexy girl next door.

The sounds of urgent teen preparation occasionally drift downstairs, just a bit. Kerri tries not to look too amused as she offers Colton a refill on his drink.

"Thank you, ma'am" he says and takes it. he fights a glimmer of amusement himself. Rather than impatient, he seems to get he may have surprised her.

A quick last check in the mirror, a deep breath...and then Sylvi heads down the stairs at an oh-so-casual pace, the oh-I-just-woke-up-like-this illusion attempted.

"Hey, Colton!" She smiles. "I didn't know you were coming over."

Whether Sylvi fooled Colton or not, his response is "Sorry if I woke you. I have tickets to something, they're only good today, and I thought you might want to come along but it's kind of a surprise"

"A surprise?" Kerri gives a curious look.

But Sylvi's already saying, "Well, I have to check if I'm needed here. Duty, you know?" She turns her back on Colton, and gives her parents a PLEADING look.

Kerri glances at Olgar.

Olgar raises a brow, "I'm curious where this is..."

"As am I," Kerri echoes.

"In Jefferson City, Sir." He assures. "I know there area.. "

"At EarthRunes itself, or...?" Kerri asks.

"Out in the city, ma'am. I'm.. a bit reluctant to say more and ruin the surprise... but other changelings will be there" He says

"Well that could be good or bad," Olgar says

"Mom, Dad...can I talk to you a moment?" Sylvi says sweetly and reasonably. "In the kitchen? We'll just be a second, Colton." She smiles back at him before grabbing both parents by the wrists and trying to drag them there.

Olgar is dragged

Kerri gives Olgar another glance, but allows this. "Excuse us, Colton."

Once in the kitchen, "I suspect our daughter is going to make a pitch"

"It had better be a good one," Kerri replies, then looks to Sylvi dubiously.

A deep breath. "Okay...you guys both like Colton, right? I mean, I thought you were okay with him...."

"I don't like any boy your age who's straight," Olgar says "But I tolerate him better than most"

"Olgar," Kerri chides gently, then to Sylvi, "Colton has proven himself to be a fine young man, yes."

"Right. And we've gone out on dates before," Sylvi says reasonably. "And you know I can take care of myself if we end up getting into a bad situation out there, which I don't think will happen."

"Well...." Another look at Olgar from Kerri.

"mmm" Dubious look, then "Would you object to turning the GPS on your phone? " Olgar asks, "Like Siv does for her folks sometimes?"

Sylvi looks hesitant. "Well...can we agree under what circumstances you'll go looking for that info? I mean, I don't want you getting Gerd to FlickerFlash me away when there's no trouble, or something like that."

"Ooo I forgot we could do that...." Olgar mutters

"Da-ad!"
"Well," Kerri suggests, "how about, if we don't hear from you for more than four hours at a shot, we might use that information. At least to check where you are, and possibly intervene if it seems appropriate. Fair?"

Olgar nods at that

"Can you just try calling me first?" Sylvi asks, perhaps a bit impatiently.

"Of course." A nod from her mother. "That's what I meant." Which the Chieftain or Dagmar might have something to say about.

Fortunately,no Gwydions here

"Then...okay, GPS on, I check in, you call if I don't, and you can check GPS if I don't respond and do what seems reasonable. I'm okay with that."

"Well thank you, I guess now any parents would let a guy drag their under age daughter off across statelines" Olgar says with a straight face "Go on, before we change our minds...and I hope it's a nice surprise"

Sylvi beams. "Thanks, Daddy! Thanks, Mom!" A quick, tight hug for each, then she's breezing back out the kitchen door to join her boyfriend. "It's a go. Do I need to dress up at all, or is this okay?"

"That's fine" He smiles at something secret. It's not the old "I know better" arrogance he used to have, but he does know something she doesn't, and he's enjoying that. "And besides, you look great." He offers his arm.

"Okay," she smiles, making sure she has her phone on her as she takes his arm. "I've got to check in now and then, but otherwise they're being pretty cool about it." Then she wrinkles her nose at him. "You know I'm going to just about die of curiosity, right?"

"Bye, Mom! Bye, Dad!" she calls out as they're going.

Colton looks back "Thank you for the drink, Mrs. Davidson" and gone outside... where he tells her "Yes. I admit I'm enjoying that part. Does that make me bad?"

"Totally bad." She doesn't seem to mind, though. "We're going by trod?"

"Not exactly..." They head around a corner "I just hope... whew.. your'e still here. "
