"I reckon" And shortly (no pun intended) out comes a boggan, fairly handsome as boggans go, but nothing spectacular. His outfit is for work, but Dame Hazel looks at him as if he's the most handsome man in the world, and his eyes light up to see her before he waves. At his side is Pippin... another Fae Steed, but sooo much bigger and.... just....wow

"Oh, he IS a giant..."

"Yeah, we shouldn't have given him that name..." The boggan says "Not just becuase it's ironic, but because..."

Pippin trots up, politely enough but immediately brings down his huge head to sniffle at both ladies, and look them over. Pippin, it seems, is curious.

"Hi!" A grin.

"Can I pet him?"

"My Husband," Hazel says "Who can't resist an I told you so... Edwin this is Dame Dagmar, and of course you guessed Tove"

"Sure can" Edwin says with a grin, "You like horses?"

"uh-huh..." She gingerly pats Pippin's neck, as if he is spun glass that might break.

Pippin's ears assume the position of a horse enjoying himself and he leans into it JUST a little as if she were fragile and might... ha..well, he's trained to work with mortal kids so of course

"Hi-hi.. yeah, that's okay?" Still careful, but beaming.

"He's a big fellow with a gentle heart, " Edwin says "And like most fae horses, smart.. he'll get used to what you like and let you know what he likes..." He looks at Hazel "Honey, the autistic kids are doing fine but I'm a bit worried about the juvie crew. Things are going missing"

Dame Hazel sighs "Well, for gods sake lets keep it on the downlow or those poor kids will never be let out on a program like this again. Four teen year olds in jail, it's monstrous" A scowl

Tove raises a brow "Bad timing on our part? I thought today was the...day ?"

"It is, it is" Edwin says "And we still want you to sing, it's just well, a project maybe having trouble. We'll handle it, you're helping by singing to our special needs group."

"Is it food going missing?"

"Not so much, cigerette lighter, some silverware, no knives mind you" Edwin is quick to assure, "And a twenty dollar bill was taken out of the drawer, the one we use quick funds"

"Hmph." A scowl.

Hazel shakes her head "Nothing we can't afford to lose if need be, though the lighter worries me more than anything . Just in case they feel a touch arsony" then to both "We'll handle this. Don't you worry"

Pippin bumps Dagmar when she slows her petting

"Lighters are for smoking, usually. Hard to keep those."

"Oh, right. Petting, okay! Will do my job!"

Hazel smiles at that, "Pippin , don't be so spoiled, yes you've found a rider who is big enough to treat you right."

Indeed, Dagmar can reach into those hard to get at itches!

"Reminds me, it's getting hotter, we may have to give Pip a bit of a trim" Edwin says

Tove says "ooh that's a shame, he's so handsome with his mane and such long"

"Do you get trolls here often?"

"Not too often," she admits "Some trolls don't like working with Liams as oaths are very important to them"

"Mmph" Edwin says to that.

"Well, Frank is strong." A shrug, as if that's the end of it.

And so it is... Hazel goes to look into the matter of stolen items, and Edwin calls for some help. A Kinian boy about Dagmar's age ... "Hi, I'm Heath" He says. And... his blood seems.. strong enough to hodl enchantment well, but darned if she can place exactly what kith is in him. He's tall and broadshouldered, but his hair is etxtr thick and a bit wild. "I'll help you with Pippin." While tall by mortal standards , she's an inch or two over him as a troll.

"You going to be okay while I perform?" Tove asks her

"Sure!"

"I'm Dagmar." She offers a hand to Heath.

He shakes it, and grins "This is going to be a real treat for Pippin. He really should be a troll mount you know? but we don't get many.. . okay if we start out with you slow? Let him get a feel for you? I can tell he likes you," he pats the horse with a warm thump "But Pip's never met a stranger, wants to know everyone so that doesn't mean he always knows you yet."

"I've only ridden the one time..."

"Oh, we'll take it slow then," heath says "And no shame mind you," he insists "it's a skill and it takes practice, and we do not laugh at folks if they have trouble. It's cruel and stupid" he says firmly "Everyone starts out not knowing, only shame is refusing to learn. And you're already smarter than that. Here, let me show you how to saddle him and more..."

Heath does just that, teaching her the way the gear fits and so on

Some of this she may know, but he's not condescending, and moves ahead when she asks him to and shows she has it down. But he also has the patience for a hundred questions if a hundred questions she has.

Dag is attentive and careful - most of it, indeed, she doesn't know...

It feels familiar, sure.. but.. this is Sam's first time, her first in this life...

Pippin turns out to be a good horse to train on, seeming to realize she's a rookie but happy to show her the ropes himself.

Dagmar laughs quite a bit at the horse's assertiveness. "Oh, really? You want that?"

"oh, every horse likes to break loose into a run now and then..." Heath says "But he knows better than to do it on you with out your say" He gets his own horse, and they leave the corral and ride side by side at an easy pace

"Thorn is faster than Pip, so if he DID act up, I could catch you and help you" The boy says as dedicated as any troll to her protection

"I bet, he looks fast. Do you live here?"

"Yeah, they take care of me" clearly meaning Hazel and Edwin "my family well... they were messed up" He says sheepish "And ... if not for here ? I would have...well, you know how it feels sometimes that there is only one path? And... " He looks thoughtful "And it's off a cliff so you think... 'well, if I'm going to crash, let's do it big?"

"..Yeah, kinda. Yeah."

"I was a foster kid."

"Oh, then you definitely get it" he says "I wasn't a foster kid, but.. .well, Edwin and Hazel showed me other paths. And I don't just mean enchanting me and teaching me I had fae blood."
