While the clock work butterfly, annoyingly, teases in circles beyond them, vanishing slowly

"Fewer..."

"Oh! You said it! 'Few'! Add -er, and it turns into "Fewer"...which is more less than few!"

"I mean, you know, like that!"

And they part...

Clearing a path

A laugh. "Could be! Sounds right..."

A happy skip and she's off again...where's that pretty bug?!

"C'mon, Dags! Clippity-clop!"

"Sylvi, are we gonna get in trouble?"

For Sylvi, it's like the duty of being a troll has gone, and with it, a load off.

"I don't wanna be a wet blanket, I mean... I'm not..."

"For what? I mean, we have our token," she shakes the keychain, "we solved the riddle...and I want that butterfly!"

There it is! The clockwork butterfly tick glitterflitter tick and is heading down a hallway

"If you're sure..." She clips along.

"There! I just wanna see it..." She's zooming after it.

"Sure as I need to be, I think. Maybe. But it'll be fine!"

The satyr has no trouble keeping up. The two enter the hall (or is it a tunnel)

Oh, she does like running!

as they pass through, the tunnel suddenly shifts, twisting slick as they slide down an incline!

Though stopping on the polished floors tends to be more of a skid...

Sylvi doesn't want to lose track of the flitter-thing, so she's going at a good clip when suddenly, "Whu???" as her feet go out from under her. She skitters and tries to slide down like surfing a wave.

Oh, Dagmar is zooming down on her tail. "Whoooaaaaahhhh!"

And they find themselves in..a maze?

"Okay, this is bad."

"Sylvi, can we say that this is bad? Jaymes is gonna freak..."

"Oh, pfft!" Sylvi waves it off. "You worry too much. It's just another kind of road. We'll find a way through!"

Runes light up , 'NO matter where you go, there you are, sometimes one can't make the right choice until it's time to make it'

"But...oh, poop. Where's the butterfly?"

"Why don't we try to find a way up?"

She blinks at the runes. "Huh...well..." She looks to see if there's a right turn to be made.

Nope, but you can go straight or left.

Dagmar is looking behind, seeing if there might be a way to climb back to where they came from...

"Hmmmm....the right time..."

"Hey...Dags, sing something."

"Uh... sing?"

She shakes the keychain to provide a rhythm. "Sure! To kill a little time."

It clatters and clicks in tune

"Oooh, that's nicer than I thought it would be...." she says of her improvised instrument.

"Sylvi, I'm not a very good singer... why don't you help me figure out.. if we work together, I think we can reach there, and climb up. We're short, but we're light.."

"I am figuring it out. The runes say we can turn right at the right time...so maybe if we wait a little, there will be a right turn here."

"Orrrrr we go back up and skip the maze."

"And you know that rule about trods, right? Can't go back? I think it's the same with mazes. Maybe. Kinda."

"Is that the rule? I don't think that's the rule..."

"Bet it is!"

As the girls argue, time does pass, and there's a door to the right where there wasn't before.
