"...which is why you need to get used to being in the Autumn world before you go out in it on your own. Suck it up."

Siv whirls on Sylvi, eyes darkening a bit

Then she takes the charm off around her neck, and shoves it into Sylvi's hand... just when a car pulls up, Olgar inside, "Sylvi, Siv. Get in. "

"now." He adds, then sees Sam "Sam, you and your friend need a lift?"

Dag nods. "This is Symon."

Sylvi's hand clenches around the pendant. "I'm trying to help, but if you're going to be a baby about it...." She gets herself into the backseat of the car. "You sit up front." She says to Siv. And she's silent for the rest of the ride back.

He looks a little unsure, and swallows at the sight of the intimidating Olgar. A quick shake of his head. "I'll see you at school. Go take care of her, yeah?"

Olgar raises a brow at something, "Nice to meet you, Symon." Then a look to Sylvi and Siv, "Siv, if you would please sit in the front. "

"...yeah. Um. Nice meeting you." A quick smile, teeth bright against the dark blue, before she clambers into the van.

"Okay. Siv? What happened." Olgar asks.

Siv says "I went to the bathroom. There was an old lady there, a hag. I felt the cold but didn't think much of it... then she ..she started talking about my clothes. Saying girls now a days don't dress right and... more."

"Something called an Autumn Person?" Dag volunteers as Sylvi simmers.

Olgar nods, "Okay, Sam, thanks..." THey drive off... and Siv is asked to say more.

....

And Symon finds himself alone. which is how he likes it... right?

He watches them go, holding an armful of shadowy fluff.
"Eat that lady." goes a mrowl.
"No, you'd get indigestion." Though, he is thoughtful, and goes back into the mall. Is the lady still around?

He looks about, and soon hears the Autumn woman fusing at a shop keep at a women's clothing store.

"Miss" the perfectly mortal and thus far more resistant vendor says "It's a bikini, it's supposed to show off the body quite a lot. May I reccommend some other store if this offends you? Forever 101? perhaps?"

He keeps his distance, but manages to snap a picture of the lady to send out to the others as a warning to keep away. He just needs to... crap. He didn't get any numbers. And... double-crap. Still holding onto this comic book! Guess he has to go talk to the girls again on a school day...

Mrs Lee texts him.

Siiiiiiiiiigh. k. pick me up out front. He tousles the chimera. "With how sugary she always is? You'd get diabetes. Or too fat to fit in my bag." A small smile for Lovecraft, as he moves to wait for the pick up.

A sneeze snort of indignation. Her , a fat cat?

"I'd have to call you Tubcraft."

Oh she's not talking to him now

"Oh, Love. Tell you what. We can read your favorite story tonight. Ulthar? I promise, I'm not sick of it any more."

A tail swish, and she does recognize he exists. Better

That small smile that only she seems to earn.

The car pulls up, with a chimerical bumper sticker that reads 'My Step Sluagh is an Honorable Role Student'

He hurries into the car before anyone can see... not that anyone knows him around here, but it can't hurt. "Hey, Ann-Marie."

"Get in, get in, are you okay? I worried. oh how I did not see this in my omens?"

He buckles in. "Don't know. I'm fine, didn't get close." A pause, and he offers, hoping to forestall the expected grilling. "Met some trolls, they were on the lookout and gave the alert. We weren't in any danger."

"Well, the baroness 'lodge put out the Autumn Alert..w ait, were any of the trolls your age?"

She drives along with him as she asks

On guard. "Ah yes. I, ah. Made a friend named Sam."

"That's wonderful. Is he nice?"

An inward sigh of relief. "Yeah, Sam's nice, and has a halberd. Too heavy for me, but if anything ever came at us, I'd be safe. Goes to my school, too."

She does look relieved. "Good to know. So, at least one good thing came of you going to the mall. Maybe we should take you more often?"

He shrinks into the seat a little. "Or maybe I could get a bike, then you wouldn't have to drive me..."

"well, maybe that's something for someone's birthday or yule. Though, ofcourse you'll need the helmet and knee pads too."

"Everyday is someone's birthday." He mutters, but so low that she can't hear (a very practiced move!) Cough. "Of course...."

"They invited me to River Vale." He remarks, offhandedly.

"Oh? " A pause "They did? Who were the other trolls that invited you?"

"Sylvi, and Siv." A pause, and he offers. "It's probably some sort of omen. S-names, hanging out."

"Seems so," She chimes, "See what I did there?" A nudge

"Yes'm." He says, carefully not letting her see the eye roll, as that would be impolite, and a sloo would never do.

They pull into home, "Okay, you get washed for dinner. I have that old sushi or the no longer so healthy rice" She sighs. She wishes she could feed him well, she wishes she could cook him non sluagh foods but, one adapts.
