The drive to the hospital takes far too long, or so it feels. Zara finds the passage of time herky jerky, as if she can't will herself to be when and where she is, rather worrying about her father

She's quiet - she's a sluagh after all - but she is fretting.

Spidery fingers twisting her braid, picking at her lace trim, knotting up on the hem of her sweater.

They pull up and pay for parking.

And then park, and Earl looks at her, "It'll be okay."

"Aye, aye, of course..."

He squeezes her hand, then they slip out of the car.

She senses pockets of banality even from here... she can only hope her dad isint' in one of those areas

She grimaces, and clings to Earl and Tzipporah's hands.

"Shit" Earl mutters. He senses it too "yeah, we're staying togeether"

The three, hand in hand, approach the hospital entering in. It is one of the 'better ' hospitals, bright colors, incredibly clean....

it's very unsluagh

She squints at the lights and noise and colors.

She's dealt with this sort of aesthic all her life, at least nocker designs show brilliance.. but this is so timidly unorigiinal if 'acceptable'

and crowded yes, folks lingering in various states of disrepair, mostly better off sorts

"Let's hurry..."

They move up... a hospital worker at a desk looks up "Can I help you?" She doesn't seem too grey

but her smile is insincere

"I need Aaron Schwartz's room number, please."

"mmm?" She has trouble hearing

"Aaron Schwartz is a patient here... " Earl says louder, feeling irritated at this employee even if it's unreasonable to be so

"Oh, room number. One moment. Are you family?" She's looking on a tablet

"Aye. His daughters."

"Well, he's in room 304, third floor. Mrs. Schwartz is waiting there"

She nods. "Thank you, miss."

"YOu're welcome" She says almost roboticly

Zara ducks away, beelining for the elevator.

And the others are dragged along, despite the fact Zara's spindly, slender and not a muscle house

She bounces impatiently on her toes, waiting for the ding.

DIng, and it opens... even as it does, someone joins them

Zara glowers.

The guy who joined them does NOT decide to wait for another, joining them, but he scoots to HIS side of the elevator

Hes' a drab looking man

Three should be a shirt ride, at least.

"You know, " the man says "Most hospitals have the same required measurements for elevators... a safety protocal thing..." It is clear he wants to talk.. elevators.

THankfully, 3 is NOT too far away a number, and it opens as the fellow drones about elevator regulations

Zara makes haste to LEAVE.

"... another regulation now adays is..."

And Earl gets the girls out, looking a bit tired already. THat fellow might be a low level autumn person if he gets anymore focused on one thing

"304, 304..."

THey finds .. her mom, outside the room, pacing. Hannah turns when they approach" Zara, Tizzy? what are you doing here? I was about to call..."

"Mama!" Zara, without dignity, rushes forward to latch on to her mother in a tight hug.

Hannah hugs her "They say it'll be another five minutes before I can go in. Oh you three shouldn't be here. You're vulnerable"

"What happened? Do they know?"
