"No, August," He grits his teeth. "I honestly just wanted to have a nice romantic walk with Zara in the woods. And she wanted the same. Then Ice..." A deep breath, "Decided to out of the blue challenge me for her.... after I've gotten lecture on lecture on how ..." A forced deep breath, "Can we just get back to Beltaine. ICE, you go your way ,we'll go ours, and we'll sort out the feelings and stuff later when it won't ruin an evening?"

(His eyes on Zara, then he turns) "There's always next year." (He stops, looks at Earl, dark eyes) "It's not going past tonight." (His eyes flick to Zara, then he pushes past August (if necessary) and strides away)

Tanner arrives from... elsewhere. This is the first time her friends have ever seen her in anything other than jeans and leather or her armor. She wears a light and airy dress of a sky blue color.

Ice does indeed press past the Sidhe.... and the Sidhe allows him past.

"Thank you," He says to ICE, part of him might even mean it.

"Ok... sorry. You guys... just... well. Take care."

Earl moves to Zara knowing that she was already overwhelmed with feelings once tonight, and then this might... well, "Are you okay?"

(He'll return to find his mother ....leaving with Goggles, probably. He makes a face)

Alabaster Hollow on Beltaine! The gardens are in bloom, a riotous and colorful display that spills out into the manor house, shops, forges, and work spaces. Everyone is dressed in their best!

August - solid grey leggings and black boots, a sky-blue and open-necked poet's shirt under a royal blue jacket with silver abstract designs. It is a more formal, more dressy version of his usual.

Earl is dressed like a nordic noble or rich trademan of old with many fine buttons.

(Ice is ....in black. A nice black button-up over a black tee, new black cargoes, his black steeltoes)

A wide, bright smile on her face as she takes in the surroundings. She looks for those she knows.

Zara, deer in headlights, is at least a well-dressed hind - an elegant silver satin dress and delicate lace opera gloves.

Earl takes Zara's hand and glances to Tanner, "Hello, Lady Tanner. Forgive us, it's been an eventful night."

She pulls her hand free, and is now in full-retreat.

(If he sees Tanner, she gets a chin-lift. Ice is draped into a chair at a table that might hold a few nockers and more than one empty whiskey bottle. Did he drink all that himself??)

Janet is gone with Goggles... probably best not to ask...

((Somewhere, a boggan is sulking...))

(Ice tries not to think of that. If there is more whiskey in the bottle, he might go for a second glass)

Well, hello to you as well Earl. Please don't let me interrupt anything. I'm just happy to be here. Not to speak ill of my home, but The Roost is so stark and cold most times that this is a great change of pace.

Earl is gone after Zara without so much as a 'hey pardon us' to the others

She gathers up her skirt in her hands, fleeing in earnest.

August grins uneasily at Tanner. "Hi."

(Tanner gets a whiskey bottle waved at her, invitingly)

August looks like he'd prefer to be anywhere else.....

Not because of Tanner, mind.

At that, Earl chants a bit... "Herne, if you ever favored me, give me speed and words... and more... Herne if you ever favored me..."

August! Glad to see you recovered nicely. Ah... I think I'm being invited to have a little libation. WE'll need to chat at some point. Catch up and all that.

But the glamour sputters and he is forced to just run, "Zara, please?"

A burst of desperate speed, and she's into the woods - dodging for cover, for somewhere to HIDE...

Tanner acts the social butterfly and flits around, aiming for Ice and the possibly-offered whiskey.

And hide she will, and Earl will find an oak and sit against it, and wait all night if need be hoping for her return. He will be faithful, he will be patient. He will ...he will hold.

(He gets one of the glasses -- maybe Goggles' -- and pours a shot for Tanner) "Hey."

Ice. How's Chewie?

August sees the way the evening goes and... departs. Open to love in a greater form.

OOC: Player must go. Assume Earl stays late ...he'll wait for her, he wont' hound her. And he'll hope. EM if needed to tell me what happens to him

Takes the shot glass with a smile and a nod. "Who'd have thought a chimera could be so fickle?" she says with a wink and downs the shot, trying to to show that she's not normally a whiskey kind of girl.

(A snort, and a twist of a grin) "Smart chimera. Runs from me."

"Ha. You're not -quite- the scariest fae I've known, Ice. Close, though."

"Someone worse than me?" (He offers to pour her another round, still with a twisted smile) "Now, if this were a faerie tale, I'd have to try to take them down."

"There's some seriously nasty Redcaps up in Stonecoast. I wouldn't wish them on anybody. But... yeah." -Takes the newly-filled shot glass and downs it again, trying not to wince.-

"Okay, teeth trump ruthlessness. Still, thanks for the flattery." (He pours himself another splash) "Think there will be jousts, or anything?" (His dark eyes flick up) "You know how to do that?"

"I've practiced once or twice but I'm nowhere near good enough to try it competitively. Besides... my armor and stuff is back home."

"You do lessons?"

"Not jousts. Blades." (He throws back the splash of whiskey, making a face)
