The lit class rocks, a lot of teachers in high school assumed that because Sam was big , brawny, and a jock, she wasn't that she wasn't that interested in intellectual pursuits. Not her professor.

"Okay, I Like your idea for the paper, and I approve" She nods "Have to say, it's pretty fresh"

A blush-shrug.

"You might want to look at studies of other epics from a feminist perspective for a kind of guideline.... a rather modern trend historically speaking, but more and more folks are rethinking the classics from the perspective of the women involved. "

"Yeah? I mean, it seemed really obvious that Jason was a dick to Medea..."

"A lot of the greek 'heroes' were philandering manipulating A holes" She agrees "Values were different then, but I bet if we could interview greek women from the time those stories were told they'd still have some different viewpoints from the fellow"

She nods!

"As for what aspect on your project to focus on, and how much, I leave that to you. Find the angle taht most fascinates you.For me, my own interest makes any project go a bit smoother. Might help you too"

A slow nod.

Chelsea waits for her turn, she ahsn't been avoiding Sam, but she had been blushing and looking a wee bit confused

"What do you have for me, Chelsea?" The professor inquires

"My paper involved if it would work changing the setting to a more modern take..." Chelsea says "Or it will if you accept it?" She shows her paper over

Her proposal is read, andd the professor gives some advice to her as well

Then says "Any more questions on either of your part?"

Chelsea shakes her head

"Sam?" the professor turns back to sam "Any more questions on your project now that it's approved?"

She clutches her notebook close and shakes her head.

"Have a blast" The professor nods and waves to a boy behind them.

Chelsea seems torn whether to go with Sam, or head on out

She bites on her lip.

Chelsea pauses at the door, then looks at Sam "you ..ah, heading towards the library?"

"I need to get there at some point. So - um... maybe? Yeah?"

"me too" Nervous

A nervous attempt at a smile. "Cool."

And out she goes, slowly so sam can go to

She seems tense, but she's not running

Sam echoes the tension, following, but lagging.

Before they get there, Chelsea turns to say "I'm sorry I'm being weird right now"

"Did I do something wrong?"

"No no.. i.. had this weird dream... I don't know what to make of it. Yoou were in it.. and I can't decide how to feel about it, which is totally unfair to you. I mean, it's MY dream"

"...oh.."

"If I'm weirding you out, I can go?"

"No I... I like you. I do. I would hate it if w e stopped being friends too. Does that make sense? "

"I don't have a lot of friends here." Oh, that spilled out in a rush.

"I mean.."

"Sorry."

"Me neither, it's okay.. I just, if I tell you about my dream you might ...think i'm a creeper"

BLUSH

"You don't have to tell me anything you don't wanna."

"So..." a smile rallies "We just go to the library and study"

"Exactly! And get one of those danishes from the coffee kiosk?"

"Oh I could really go for a Danish!"

The coffee Kiosk danishes are not bad, not bad at all. THey don't compare with Kerri's, but what does? And they have Sam's favorite flavor

CHeeeeeeeeese.

"mmm" munch munch ..and coffee

Quiet companionship.

And indeed, the tension eases out as they just share that quiet

Sam knows better than to press.

They clean their fingers off, then find a spot in the library, and study a bit, each doing research alone together

And really, what can she say?
