It's early, but Dagmar has already been at work for a few hours. The stables are downright shiny.

There is a rustling in the hayloft, followed by a high-pitched squeak!

Grunt. ("Who's there?")

She looks up, squinting.

An inky black smudge, crouched.

"Good morning, Lovecraft."

She lifts a paw, and something small darts from underneath - it doesn't get far before she pounces again! Her tail lashes. "Good hunting."

She goes back to pitching straw into the recently-mucked stall.

"Thank you for helping with the mice. Or rats."

A third pounce, and the critter she had been toying with is now mercifully still. "Huuuuungry?" The cat asks, with a smooth purr.

"It's all yours. Bon appetit."

A small wince.

Still, rodents can spread disease or soil the grain meant for the horses.

She knows this - she might not like the visceral knowledge, but...

...but it doesn't help much when a cat drops a severed tail from the loft onto the ground.

A grimace, which is almost as good as a flinch from a troll.

A sound almost like snickering, and Lovecraft fades into the shadows in the back of the loft once more.

A sigh, and she's back to work. Stables, then patrol, keep busy.

Edelweiss stays in the shade, large and feeling cranky about it. But still 'on guard

"How goes it with the horses? " Dagmar doesn't know Eulalie DeBuke well, just that she's a rover in training. She does help out though some "You want help?"

A look at the intruder. "Mmph." ("No.") Head down, back to work.

Eulalie nods simply back . Being a troll, she speaks it.

The horses, however, DO show interest in the new person.

Oh they've seen Eulalie before. She's been learning under Olgar, and tended to them a few times. And Dagmar can see the recognition in their eyes as the DeBuke learning the ropes of Rivervale and trods tends to other chores outside the stable before them.

She might also have a carrot in her pocket

"Hmph." Scowl. Bale-stacking.

A brow lift from the girl only a year or two younger than her "I do something wrong?"

"No." She hefts another bale.

"K" And she tends to removing a stump.

Vague bristling.

Lots of ignoring.

The ignoring seems to be mutual, as Eulalie, uses rope to pull out the small stump , well rope and troll might and know how. "There we go"

She then fills in the hole a bit, so the horses won't risk harm over it

Star seems to sense Dagmar's bristling, and makes equine noises of curiosity and light concern.

"Shhh, girl." Reassuring pat.

Star nuzzles her and seems to say the same. It's well, THEY are together again, the best horse and rider team EVAR

"Horse really likes you," Eulalie observes

"She's my partner."

"She's a good one" EUlalie nods "Knows she's good too mind you, but she's got great lines"

"You want ego, that'd be Stormwake."

Not without fondness, mind.

"No shit, " Eulalie admits, a BIT of a smile "Acts like his droppings don't stink. But he's a fighter"

Stormwake nickers. His droppings may stink, but it is a STALLIOn scent, worthy of heroic lines

"Yeah, yeah. We know."

Eulalie smirks at that ("God's gift to horses")

Snort, amused.

Eulalie throws the discarded stump into a woodpile bin for use for carving or burning later then she has to ask "Did you really save Mountain Vali by jousting a car?"
