The Day of Carnivale is.. the Day of Carnivale, still a time of preperation for the fun. Turns out the Count has this year visiting the Duke, so each barony is left to itself ....

Decorations abound!

And creatively so. The normally stoic lodge is adorned with almost cartoon viking artwork, much donated by the childlings, so helmets with non historical horns, pink long ship designs, and the Swedish Chef dressed as if for a raid are just some of the drawings on the walls to go with bright colorful Madri Gras decor

The events haven't started yet, but folks are in a good mood as they play with it. Jo Jo has been dressed up like Marvel's Heimdell

In preparation, Frank calls Siv.

"Hey, Da" Siv is not far "You like the decorations so far? Lots of Hagar the horrible stuff... "

"I like what the kids have done. Do you have a costume yet?"

"Well, I had to change it up... Piper and Jonas won't be able to make it. "

"Mm. With your mom teaming up with the Hearth and Mountain, I'm at loose ends too."

"I have a costume in reserve, cute little sailor outfit parody? But ah.. " She shrugs "It's rather revealing and I thought that wouldn't be kind to you or mom." She ponders "Mmmm you might make a good cowboy yourself, da. Hat, boots and vest maybe needed but otherwise not hard?"

Frank nods. "Could do that. What are you wearing?"

"Well, i think if i got dressed up as a pirate folks would ask me where my costume was... so I thought maybe against type. Think the DeBukes here would be offended if I went for overalls and a straw hat?"

"Mmm... generic DeBuke costume, or one DeBuke in specific?"

A smirk "Well, I could bare my mid riff with a straw hat and it would be Aunt Clem "

Frank is quiet a moment on the other end of the phone. "I could put my hands on some tie-dye. Lennon-glasses. Peace-beads."

"Ha, for you or me?" She smiles

"Me. Like I said, I'm looking for a costume."

"I think you'd look great... hey, ask Sally Mae for help if you need it. She's got some sewing skills"

"I can put a button on when I have to."

"But yes, Sally Mae could help. Veracity if nothing else."

"So... we set?"

"I think so" She nods "I may change up the farm girl for something else at the last minute but it's a fall back"

"Oh. Ok."

"Actually.. you know what? I got an even better idea. Need to call in a favor. Love you, Da"

THen a pause "Da? I just realized something.. were you planning on going as Emmit with me as Clem?"

"Sounds like you have it covered, Fishie. You should dress however you want. You'll be visiting Goldfinch too, I'd bet."

"Now Dad. If we were going as Clem and Emmit please let me know because that sounds fun and we don't get to do things together often"

"Well, your mom is coordinating with the other parts of the Triad so I was at loose ends. But you should go however you want, Fishie. The cowboy is a good idea for me. I have the boots, I think."

A chuckle "Da... I think I have an even better costume for you if you like. I was going to surprise you all. Get a shark fin and dress like a fish. How about, and this is up to you... you get a fishing hat and a rod?"

A long, thoughtful pause. "Tell you what... I have an idea to go with yours. If that's what you want to go as."

"Well, You call me 'Fishie a' and that's what inspired me"

"I can work with that."

"Oh so you want to surprise me and the others , is that why you're not telling me your side?" His daughter doesn't sound upset, just nosey

"If that's ok."

OOC Have to be AFK for a few hours....

"Of course it is. You deserve fun too. YOu got it" She says

And off they each go for their own costume prep
