Brekke helps herself to some of the food and casts a pleased look at the balefire...and maybe the occasional concerned look towards the stairs.

Kerri says to Kassedy, "I was never a Firebrand. What's it like?"

"Oh," Kassedy smiles "It was wonderful, we didn't get to meet the high king, but the lanterns were carried to various dukes, and then we took it from their hands themselves. There were so many girls, most older than me"

"And the Duke was kind to you?"

"Well, yes. I would say so. Most Dougal don't like Liam, but I told him I was from Rivervale and he looked impressed"

Brekke gives a slight grin at that. "That is due to Frank, I think."

"Sir Franklyn is a good House Brother" the squire nods , her sidhe eyes bright with innocent tendency to explain the already known to the Chief "He's quite accomplished, you know?"

"I may have heard, yes."

The balefire flickers in a way that might remind fellow trolls of a trollish chuff

Kerri grins.

Vali is admiring the flame, for him the link still feels new, and quite humbling "Imbolc's going to be good this year"

Frank slips back downstairs.

Brekke looks to Vali. "Is that a vision, Mountain?"

She looks to Frank as he comes back down, questioning: Is she well?

He shakes his head "Faith"

Frank hears Vali and the others talking. Kassedy was very hungry

There's still plenty, though. Frank can help himself.

A slight, miss-able nod She will be.

And yes, he has a book in-hand. He takes it with him to get a plate.

"Is that a story book, Sir Franklyn, sir?" Kassedy asks

"Mm. More of a history."

"Which one?" Kerri asks, curious.

"Mr. Olgar says we need more Her story" the squire says

"Hm." Brekke makes an amused sound.

Vali tries not to roll his eyes

"Accordance War."

Apparently answering Kerri.

Kerri nods. "Pleasure reading? Or researching something specific?"

"The accordance war was terrible and very sad" the littler liam says "House Liam mostly went neutral. We tried for peace"

"Never really a pleasure reading about War. More of a... honored obligation."

He nods to Kassidy.

"Well, I didn't mean pleasure so much as...non-goal-oriented," Kerri points out.

"Part of my cycle." he explains.

"You have to wear a helmet if you're going on one of those "Vali says faux somberly

"i'm a kid and even I know that's not what he was talking about" Kassedy says

Vali smiles

A slightly-pained brow from Brekke to Vali.

Vali looks only the tiniest bit contrite

"Oh! I was about to put bread in to bake when you arrived, Kassedy. 'Scuse me, all!"

Kerri hurries into the kitchen.

"Warm bread is nice" SHe assures

One of the dogs bark. Someone has come to the door

Brekke rises and goes to see who it is.

The colors of teaneck on his scarf, there appears t be a sidhe. Not the baron, one of his knights

A curious expression. "Welcome. Enter." She gestures the stranger into the Lodge.

"Sir Milyn ap EIluned" He bows "Pardon, Baroness is.. Lady Captain Siv in?"

"She is here. She is...resting, I believe," she says, glancing to get confirmation from Frank.

(We'll assume Frank gives confirmation , forgive me, shady 🙂 )

(Yes.)

"I see." He notes the fire, and the firebrand beyond the chief "Well, when she has time, the Baron of Teaneck would like a word with her. Could you pass it on?"
